First off I love coffee. Having two other types of coffee makers, I look for certain qualities; ease of use, versatility, and of course how the coffee tastes. The Vertuo Next succeeds in all three categories. Out of the box you get the main unit, a water tank, a drip grid, an adjustable cup support, and a capsule container. Oh, and a nice sample starter set of coffee capsules. This sample set is filled with a variety of coffees as well as some espresso capsules. Once assembled the first thing you’re going to want to do is an initial cleaning. This is simple enough. Fill the water tank about a quarter of the way, place a medium sized container under the coffee outlet, and then press the coffee button three times in succession. Once the unit cleans itself, it’s time to make your first cup of coffee. Simply fill the water tank to the fill line, place the tank back into the unit, and then unlock the top hatch, and place a coffee capsule in. Close the hatch and lock it. Place a cup under the coffee outlet and press the coffee button. In seconds the machine starts to spin the capsule and out comes the coffee. The best part of the coffee is that once it’s done, the top layer is a crema. The most intriguing part are the barcodes on the coffee capsules themselves. The unit reads the barcodes and from there, it knows how much water is needed to make the specific type of coffee that you desire. Ordering extra capsules can be done online at the Nespresso website. You can find a nice variety of different types of coffee. (My favorite is the stormio; nice and bold) Also included is a milk frother called the Aeroccino3. It too is extremely easy to use. Simply attach the agitator at the bottom of the container, plug it in and choose hot or cold milk, and then turn it on and enjoy some frothy milk. All in all, this is a great coffee maker. It looks sleek with its chrome accents and black matte finish, the technology behind the capsules is nothing I have seen elsewhere, and the coffee is delicious, and is made without any hassle or mess. I would gladly recommend it to any coffee lover out there. I can’t wait to try all of the different types of coffees.

    Stepping up my coffee game

Several of my friends have a Nespresso and they all seem to love them so I figured I would try and brew a more sophisticated cup of coffee (without going full on french press) and step up from my normal instant coffee as I am a coffee caveman (but I still need it). The Vertuo is simple to use with ONE button on top. I like a large cup of coffee in the morning so the top off function is appreciated, but it is annoying that you pretty much have to stand by the machine to wait for it to be done brewing because the top off must be selected within 45 mins. It's not an incredibly long wait, but still, the unit only gives you 45 seconds before it shuts itself off.... My only other recourse is to attempt to catch the pod before it is catapulted into the waste bin or fish it out and run it a second time. Other than that this machine is a cinch to use. I do appreciate that the unit is slim and doesn't take up too much counter space. Though I wish the cord wasn't so bulky. The machine is a little noisy so I feel bad making a racket when making a cup in the morning when everyone else is still sleeping . As stated earlier, I am a coffee brute, and don't really do cappuccinos and lattes, but I have tried several. They are quite creamy and light. Not really my thing and I am not soon to be a convert, but my wife likes them and thinks I'm trying to be fancy with her. The regular coffees I do have experience with, and with the pods that came included with this machine is no different, they are much richer than my average crappy instant stuff which I could become spoiled with. The Aeroccino unit that came with this machine is cool. Like I mentioned I don't have much experience with frothy milk but this unit is very simple to use and both hot or cold, the results are quite pleasant according to my wife. I already recommended the Vertuo to my coworker as his old Nespresso died on him and he will be replacing his with this unit as well as he is a more avid espresso/cappuccino drinker. Though I will be experimenting with blasting my instant coffee with a shot of espresso when I need that extra kick.

I purchased 2 of these machines. One came without the 12 trial pods. Both were gifts and were opened at the same time. I went to exchange the one and Best Buy was completely sold out. This was unfortunate for the recipients!

I've been drinking coffee brewed in a "K" style coffee maker for quite a few years and have always found the flavor to be lacking the intensity, aroma, and full bodied flavor. I knew from the moment I brewed my very first cup in the Nespresso Vertuo Next Premium that I was in for a whole new experience! I knew after my very first sip that the "K" brewer was on its way to the donation bin. I've tried almost every one of the included samples and have not been disappointed. Even the decaf was was amazing! Good: - 1 touch operation - Small footprint - Takes up much less space than my old machine - 1 touch top off - Single press of the power button will run additional water through the pod without sacrificing flavor. - Machine can be calibrated to your specific flavor profile by programming the machine to add more or less water by pod size. - Milk frother and warmer included for delicious cappuccinos, Americanos, Mochas, and Lattes at home! --Can also make cold frothed milk for refreshing and delicious iced coffees. - Reasonably priced premium coffee; Much cheaper and more flavorful than the leading coffee chain... - Eco Friendly --Fully Recyclable pods --Coffee produced from sustainable sources --Minimal packaging made from fully recycled materials. Bad: - Water reservoir is a little small - I can only fill 2 travel mugs before needing to refill. - Pods are not readily available; easily ordered online.

I have not had this much fun with an espresso machine since my wife & I brought back our Pavoni from Italy in 1972. I had never before used one of these types of brewers (Keurig for example) so I was very surprised at how easily I was able to get started and get comfortable using the Nespresso. Cleaning the machine is the first order of business and that allows you to get comfortable with the basic operation. Beyond that it is really as simple as filling the water tank, selecting and inserting a coffee capsule, and you are good to go. The instruction booklet makes it easy to keep things in proper order and with the pictures and written word it is all easy to follow. I do not believe anyone expects barista quality from what is essentially an instant coffee machine but the coffee quality from the Nespresso is surprisingly good. I think most drinkers will be happier with the darker/richer flavors and while I added sugar to mine, milk would not have improved the flavor. I note also that the coffees were still very tasty even as they cooled a spell. That the Nespresso has coffee capsules allowing you to select the taste and cup size you want is a huge plus. Adding the Aeroccino3 milk frother to the mix offers some delightful options. The frother heats and froths milk fairly quickly and will generate a very "steamed" type froth. Just be careful not to overfill the milk well or you will have to take a break from your cappuccino to clean the counter/floor. I never was able to connect the Nespresso to Bluetooth ( after repeated and increasingly frustrating attempts) so I gave up on that for now. I will likely go back to that in the future. I don't expect more of the Nespresso than it can offer so the 4-Star rating reflects my issues with Bluetooth connection. In this day and age I expect the Bluetooth to work with minimal intervention. Overall assessment — Pros: Ease of setup & operation. Coffee preparation is speedy, roughly 1 to 3 minutes depending on the brew & size. This is especially nice if you're brewing coffee for company. Flavor is good for this type of coffee and machine. The Aeroccino3 milk foam stays foamy even if you let the coffee sit for an hour or so before you finish it. Most fun part is watching the machine flip the used pod into the capsule container! Cons: Coffee capsules are about $1.00 a piece so over time this could get expensive if it is your primary coffee maker.

I'll preface this by saying that for years I've avoided Nespresso. I got a Keurig machine right when they came out and for years I figured "I'm already invested in this machine and its type of coffee pods. They're probably all the same". Boy was I wrong! This Nespresso Vertuo Next machine and its high quality pods are an entirely different experience and has me in love with coffee all over again. The machine itself is very well built, sturdy, and is extremely stylish. I'm not surprised considering it is by Breville, a brand I tend to gravitate to when looking for small appliances. Physical setup was a breeze. Just pull it out of the box, give the exterior surfaces a wipe down, give the water canister a quick little wash, and you're ready to roll. The bluetooth/wifi setup left a little to be desired. It was impossible to get it to work with my iPhone 11 Pro Max and if you search the internet, you'll see it is a fairly common problem. Luckily for me I also have an original iPhone SE in the house and setup using that was as easy as it could be. I hope the manufacturer figures out what the hitch is with the flagship iPhone. While it was annoying, every other aspect was so great that it still didn't drop my rating to less than 5 stars. I have also heard some people complain that the machine doesn't get the temperature hot enough. I have not had that experience. On to the Aeroccino3! This is a fantastic device and I was SO excited when I learned that it does cold foam/froth. It is also very well engineered and more importantly, super easy to clean. My favorite thing to do with it is mix a little whole milk with a little vanilla coffee syrup and make a diy equivalent of Starbucks Sweet Cold Foam. It's the perfect addition to an iced Ontuoso. All in all, if you want a truly upscale coffee experience that is more Starbucks than Dunkin, this is the machine for you.

A year ago i probably would have given this item 5 stars. Unfortunately this past weekend the machine stopped reading the pods, and Nespresso's solution is to buy a new one. We where very happy with the coffee from this machine and it worked pretty well for the last couple of years. I feel like if you spend over $200 on a coffee machine it should last longer than a couple of years.

Nice machine! We already have a "K" coffee maker which we are happy with. But after 9 cups worth from this Nespresso, I think the coffee flavor and richness is a little better. The frother is fun as well to add a little on top. My only negative is that the pods for this are about 2x the cost of the other brand and not in all the mainstream stores. Maybe these Vertuo pods will be more popular soon, but they do have an easy to order website for them as well. Overall, excellent quality and good value vs going to a coffee shop each day. But a little pricier than other at-home options.

This is such an awesome coffee maker, I love the different options available for coffee and how quick it brews . The coffee was smooth to drink and not overly bitter . It really is a nice machine . The app was the only thing I disliked because I felt like it wasn't very useful feeling because It can't remotely start my coffee maker and really is only useful for ordering more coffee or updates
