The google router, while working and will connect to the Internet will not allow any of its points to connect to google home. I have gone through weeks of troubleshooting with google support, who had me first place my modem in bridge mode saying I had a double NAT issue. I thought this funny since it originally worked with the modem in place without any changes to it. The bridge mode did not work, all home devices can be added to the router, the points cannot. I then went through over 10 hours of troubleshooting, resetting everything, losing all my smart home devices, had my ISP come out and change my fiber, and I connected my google router directly to my fiber connection. This also did not work. I contacted google support again and they wanted me to run through setting up everything again, after I have repeatedly asked for a replacement since they verified it is under warranty. I was told a replacement has to be handled by a higher tier, and 4 weeks later nothing. Today I contacted them again, and sure enough, they wanted me to run through the same steps, ignoring everything that had been done. At this point I am putting google's product support and warranty service on notice. I do not recommend buying this product because you will not get any warranty support should something stop working. That said, when it does work it is great.

We recommend ensuring that your Google Wifi primary and secondary points are within a straight line of sight to get the best signal from each other. You may also want to check for possible interference since appliances like your microwave oven, or other equipment like a refrigerator are known to cause signal interference. If you're using a modem/router combo, set it in bridge mode and disable its Wi-Fi functionality to avoid double NAT issues. You may then hardwire your Google Wifi primary point to the modem using an Ethernet cable and connect the other Google Wifi secondary points to the Primary to create a mesh network.
