Needed painters to be able to get in and out of house when I wasn’t there. It was easy to install on both the door and my phone. Has been great to provide people w their own codes and see when they entered and when door is locked. Haven’t had any issues in ~1 month of use. Still slightly scared that one day I will kill battery and not be able to get into my house as it doesn’t have key option, but have stashed an extra battery and have another door that would open w key.

Posted .Hi iShop, thanks for letting us know of your feedback about the Nest x Yale Lock. We understand how frustrating it can be not to be able to get into your house when the lock’s batteries are dead. The Nest app can send you a notification when the lock’s batteries are getting low, and another notification when they’re critically low. You’ll have enough time to change the batteries before they run out. Also, you can hold a 9 Volt battery on the contacts at the bottom of the lock that will temporarily charge the lock, so you can enter your passcode on the keypad to lock or unlock it.

You really need to have a need for a keyless lock as it can take a while to get your phone out over a key. The keypad is also a big help. And it's nice to see it as part of the Nest family on your app.

So bad, that it became a game to see who could unlock the front door with the least amount of attempts! We decided to trade it after an unfortunate bathroom incident…. Now THIS keypad lock from Yale is the BEST thing since sliced bread! I can even control it from my phone! Great item! Easy install, and it WORKS!!

Prefer this to the newer Yale lock because it works with Nest app. Best part if the privacy feature that doesn’t illuminate the buttons. Impossible to enter code without a phone. 100% control of access. Bought on sale at Best Buy—always the best prices.
