I needed extra ports, as more capacity was developed at my office. Have used it for couple months, and have had no issues. Nice little Ethernet switch.

Needed a switch with 14 ports so this netgear worked great for my needs. Easy to install and setup and has been flawless so far over the first month.

The Blue Netgear unmanaged switches are the gold standard for reliable, no-hassle Gigabit switches. I've used the GS105 and GS108 for years. To reduce spanning-tree problems (and eliminate a non-Netgear swtich), I purchased this 16-port version. It's been a month, but so far, so good. And as far as I can tell, I don't see any major spanning-tree issues if I plug or unplug a switch off of one if this one's ports.

Needed to purchase a few of these for a client in an emergency, they are holding up well and performing great. And they were at a decent price point too.

This was an upgrade for a switch with the same number of ports. This one is much more compact and works flawlessly. Netgear has great products.

This is the fourth Netgear FS ethernet switch that I've purchased over the last 15 years, and I love the durability and dependability of these Netgear switches. Have the FS105, 108, and now the 116 in my home network (the FS105 having been acquired circa 2005), and I gave my brother my other FS108 because he needed a dependable Ethernet switch for his home. Got this unit on sale at Best Buy, so it was an even better value.

I thought I was doomed when my office network was down one Monday morning. My local Best Buy had this product in stock and I picked it up. As advertised, it was a process of simply unplugging the old non-functioning unit and plugging this new one in. There was no software or any programming needed to get it functioning. Very easy. The old unit was a much larger box and had a fan -- this one is much smaller and has no fan which makes it run silent.

If you have several devices you might as well get switch with plenty of ports and this switch has plenty of extra ports. Also, several my old switches have had a failed port after a few years. I used a different port to solve the problem, until I ran out of ports. If this switch ever has a failed port, I have plenty of extras. It's worth the extra money to have plenty of ports.

16 ports, auto detect speed from 10Mbps to Gigabyte, backwards compatible to slower speed devices like printers allows this to connect to any network.
