It can't achieve anywhere near the speeds it advertises. I bought this in December of 2016 and now less then one year later I find out that it can't do what it was sold to do. The advertisement for this modem is a complete fabrication. DO NOT BUY IT.

I bought this thinking I could use it instead of the one Frontier provides me since I was having buffering and come home hook it up call Frontier and nope they will not ping into any modem not theirs so check with your internet provider before purchasing.

I bought this with hopes it would clear up my slow connection speed with Suddenlink. Had been paying for 150 DL but only getting 30 DL max speeds. This modem didn't help at all.

There was no phone port on the device so it did not meet my needs. I had to return it and Bust Buy does not sell on that has the phone port on it. I have no experience with the product

This router could be good if it didn't heat up so much. Also, wasn't impressed with its connective stability.

The modem worked pretty well initially but I would get a number drops in my service. I wasn't able to login in my modem to change my password from the default one set by Netgear. I called Netgear to get help and it wasn't very good. I decided to return this modem and bought an Arris SB 6190. The Arris modem seems to be working much better and I hear that Comcast seems to favor this brand over others. So far so good.

As usual, netgear provides a mediocre product at best. Has to be restarted daily even with very little use.

Awesome Modem! Increases your Comcast Speed!

This modem is great! Honestly, I never saw the importance of having a higher end cable modem until I got this device here. I usually spent my money upgrading my wireless routers, and thought it was sufficient to get the best speed possible. Turns out, having a good modem is just as important (if not more important) than having a good wireless router. I was lucky enough to get this product for free through NETGEAR's friends and family testing program, and have had great results after installing it. I found that now only did my speed increase, but I am getting slightly more than what I was told I would get! I would definitely recommend this to a friend who sees the importance of high speed internet.

I got this modem as a replacement for CM500 which stopped work after 3 months, took it home Saturday night worked fine all nigh and day Sunday, on Monday it stopped working just like the CM500, I use a lot of Netgear products so my guess is its not totally compatible with Time Warner Cable systems, returned it for a Arris SB6190, that seem to be working fine.

    Excellent If Supported by Provider

I recently upgraded my Comcast Xfinity service to 150mbps Download through a promotion and decided it was time to upgrade my Modem and Router. I use a lot of video streaming services that require a high Upload speed and now that my new service supported it, I was ready to lock more upload channels to increase my usage. I purchased this with the Netgear "Geek Squad" DST Router R7300 at the same time. It took some time to get everything set up due to both parts being new, since I had to allow the modem to establish connection, do it's firmware updates, then allow the Router to establish then do it's firmware updates, then restart both. After that, it was wonderful. The DST Adapter was a little more difficult at first, but once I remembered that the adapter was using Powerline Adapter technology, moving some plugs around fixed any connection issues I had. I will say, if you are having issues with connection from the DST, try unplugging other power cords from that plug or nearby plugs and if you can plug the other nearby devices into a surge protector AWAY from the plug your DST is using, and this helped (The DST adapter is using the literal power lines in the wall to communicate with the router in another room, not "Wirelessly", and this is why this has an effect on performance.) The reason I title "If Supported by Provider" is because honestly, I don't even need this power to use the speed I have through Comcast Xfinity. The CM500, found in most Best Buy brick and mortar stores would have worked just fine. I just wanted to be prepared for the future if they offer stronger faster data and I wouldn't have to drop more money on a new unit.
