Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the easy setup process, affordability, and reliability of the 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Many users have praised its user-friendly installation and smooth performance, making it a popular choice for budget-conscious consumers seeking a dependable internet connection. While some users have encountered compatibility issues or concerns about the modem's DOCSIS version, these concerns seem to be less common compared to the positive feedback.

Good Modem at a Good Price

So I cut the umbilical cord to cable a number of months back but kept their modem for internet service. Their modem bit the dust, so I took the opportunity to purchase my own since I was tired of paying a monthly rental. I had dreaded having to get on the phone with the cable company's tech, but it went very smoothly. Literally, I was up and running in less than 10 minutes - it took me longer to get the box open and unpacked than it did to get service back up again. If you are going to cut the cord with cable, go ahead and buy your own modem while you are at it, because once you are done with them, you evidently become a low service priority. If this 65+ year old grandma can get this plugged in (it's very intuitive) and running, anyone can. The Best Buy employee was great. I already had my own router, and I followed his recommendation to just buy the modem rather than a combo unit. If either goes out, then I only have to replace one unit rather than an entire router/modem combo unit.

Reliable, fast, and compatible with Comcast Xfinity internet service. No issues thus far. Set up was a breeze. Note that this is only a modem and does not serve as a wi-if router.

This modern is reliable and fast. It's easy to set up and is compatible with the majority of service providers. It's cheap enough that you will likely see a return on your investment within a year by avoiding rent on a modem with your ISP.

This modem met all my requirements and needs for a modem (and more). The modem runs a little hot, but then I don't think I know any modem that doesn't get a little hot. I like how easy it was to setup and how stable and reliable it is. I have been using it for almost two weeks, and I have not had any problems with it resetting on its own, or freezing because it was overheated (like other modems have done in the past to me). It has a lot of channels and provides great speed capabilities. It was between this one and the ARRIS - DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem, but the Netgear won with more channels available for both download and upload. Granted it cost a little more at the time (about 10 bucks), but it was worth it.

Nice modem at a great price. Traded in the cable modem and bought this one and have had nothing but great luck. Nice speed, easy setup and no constant resetting needed like with some modems.

The 32/8 channels make a difference

I am fairly network savvy, and knew what I wanted when I planned to upgrade from a Netgear router/modem combo that I had. I was specifically looking for a modem with 32/8 channels due to the large number of internet devices in my home. I paired the CM700 with the Netgear R7000P Nighthawk router and now my speeds are incredibly fast! My internet is up to 300MB and I consistently see between 250-330MB. This modem was so easy to setup; I just called my ISP and gave them the MAC address. I have yet to experience a problem after about three months of ownership. I recommended this router to my friend who bought one also. I have had great experiences with Netgear products and plan to stick with them.

I have Xfinity service and constantly achieve DL speed of 355Mb/s and UL speeds of 13Mb/s. Simple to install yourself and a great price. Stop paying your ISP to rent their modems as they generally aren’t as fast as the service you’re paying for. Speeds will slow a bit if you use Norton VPN, but not enough to really notice.

I use to be a fan of Motorola and the Arris brand modems, however after having a few of them die on me within the first year, I had to find something else. I game a lot on Xbox One and every gamer knows you have to have good devices so you don't deal with lag and other issues. I have always owned Netgear Routers(night hawk) and never had issues with them, read up on this one and ended up getting it. It's been about 6 months now and never have to reset it like I did with all the other ones. This modem doesn't get hot and gave me very fast speeds. Highly recommend this modem to anyone that does online gaming, must have a 3.0+ Dos!!

My old modem used to give me a lot of issues using Comcast's Gigabit Internet, despite being DOCSIS 3.1 compliant. This modem has been a great replacement for my old modem. Speeds are right where they should be, and the installation was quick and easy. With my old modem, I had to spend hours just trying to get in contact with a real human at Comcast to "activate" the modem - with this one, all you do is follow the included instructions, which will guide you to an online portal. The less time I spend talking to Comcast support, the better :) My local Best Buy was incredibly quick to fulfill the order and there was excellent customer service, especially considering the current limitations due to COVID-19.

The modems that your cable service provider are cheap and prone to not working. I recent had this happen to me twice with my ISP and I needed another solution. Enter the Netgear 32 x 8 DCOSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Works flawlessly and setup was a breeze. Great price. Note that you will need to call your ISP and have them activate your modem on their network. See the description for the ISP's this works with.

Fast modem. Big improvement over Optimum’s modem

I finally decided to stop getting ripped off by Optimum, which was charging me $10 per month to rent their modem (which was much slower and far inferior to this one). This modem was easy to set up and compatible with Optimum’s service. It will pay for itself in one year, and it offers much faster speeds. Bought this brand to keep modem and router same manufacture to promote compatibility.

Great Replacement for ISP Cable Modem

Replaced my ISP's cable modem which I had to restart 2 or 3 times a week. This was a great decision! It was easy to install, actually increased my internet speed and after a little over a month, have not had to restart. On top of all of that, no more monthly charges for use of ISP mode=m.

Five minutes after arriving on our doorstep, the new cable modem is up and running. Bracing myself for difficulty with Comcast, I was pleased at how easy setup was without ever having to speak to Comcast's clueless CS. Using a laptop with an Ethernet jack, here's how easy it was: 1) Wrote down my Comcast account number (This is the MOST important step!!!) 2) Connected modem to cable, power, and phone line 3) Connected Ethernet cable to modem and computer 4) Waited three minutes for the first three lights to blink steady (they'll blink and flash while the modem is syncing. You could wait up to 10 minutes for sync). 5) Turned off WiFi 6) Opened web browser, and Firefox had a nice little 'show login page' button appeared (if this doesn't show, you can go to xfinity.com/activate) 7) Entered my account number and street address 8) The modem reset itself. I plugged that into my Luma and we were off to the races! Ironically, Comcast sent a new tower modem a week ago. I don't know if it's me, but this seems faster than that did - speed about the same but ping time is now 9ms instead of 14 and pages that seemed to load slowly before pop in immediately. Biggest bonus is that we're saving $11/month going forward.

Purchased over the holidays and was able to set it up in leases than an hour, along with a wireless router. I have Xfinity internet and was getting intermittent service when using my iPad and averaged 50 mbps. After installing the new modem and router, the mbps went up to 120-150. You can’t go wrong with this modem, especially if your current one is over 4 years old.

I am not tech savvy. This modem was easy to install and works well. After initial connection, I worked with a representative from my IP who walked me through the connections from her end and in about 10 minutes it was up and working.. When I initially purchased my first NETGEAR product, the company’s service representative was very patient and walked me though every step. The NETGEAR Modum along with the NETGEAR Router and NETGEAR extenders provide a reliable home internet signal for my entire modest 1400 square foot shotgun style home and additional garden that I depend on for my TVS/ROKUS, laptops, Echo devices, etc I recommend NETGEAR highly.

I moved into a much bigger home and now have two roommates in the upper half of the house who need WiFi for their computers, phones, TV, video games, etc. My old modem was doing OK, we I did notice some slowdowns in performance. After checking with my cable provider for acceptable modems, I upgraded to the DOCSIS, and the performance difference has been night and day. Everything works much faster, everything. There are never any performance issues even with multiple devices going at the same time. Setup also was easy. I'm just kicking myself I didn't make this change sooner.

I work from home and this helped dramatically. Way better than the modems from the ISP. Fixed all my issues and I highly recommend. You will have to get a router to go with it, but for the price it is worth it. Also a SUPER easy installation process.

No problems setting this up. Better than leasing a modem from Xfinity with its monthly charge. Paired this with a Netgear Orbio WiFi router. Internet speeds have tested to 174 Mbps, slightly better than our Xfinity broadband service plan is supposed to be (150 Mbps)
