Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the easy setup process, affordability, and reliability of the 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Many users have praised its user-friendly installation and smooth performance, making it a popular choice for budget-conscious consumers seeking a dependable internet connection. While some users have encountered compatibility issues or concerns about the modem's DOCSIS version, these concerns seem to be less common compared to the positive feedback.

    Can't go wrong with Netgear

I gave up on DSL internet and decided to move to cable. In the past I've used a combo modem/router but decided to go separate this time and chose a Netgear Nighthawk Router and this Netgear Modem. The modem was so easy to set up. I had everything ready to go and the installer was in and out quickly. We've had great speeds, no problems at all. I've always been happy with Netgear products and am happy to be back using Netgear. Highly recommend this modem.

Must purchase for any compatible ISP! Have had this for over a month now and haven't had any issues what so ever with this modem. The setup took a few minutes and was very easy to follow. I've also received the same provided internet speed from the loaned ISP Modem/Router, but now don't need to pay for a monthly fee.

t took a bit to get the whole architecture of my system to work, but it had nothing to do with this modem. I wanted a couple of RJ-45 ethernet ports in my house that are wired with CAT-6 cable to work, so at first, I installed a 5-port Switch right after this CM700 cable modem. That did not work. Neither the cable modem nor the 5-port switch has the ability to manage IP Addresses. The cable modem is a Netgear CM700. The 5-port switch is a Linksys SE3005V2. So, I changed the architecture and installed the Primary Google Mesh Router as the first device after the cable modem and then connected the 5-port switch to the 2nd port on that Primary Google Mesh Router. Now all hard-wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports test at maximum speed and I am able to have a wired Ethernet connection to my TV and all RJ-45 Ethernet ports in the house are working as they should. I am paying for 150 Mbps internet speed and when I test connection speeds using the Google WiFi app and another 3rd party app, my test results are in the 172 Mbps range. I get the same WiFi speed everywhere in my house as I do when I connect my PC directly to any of the hard-wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports. At these speeds, it made no difference if I used a CAT-5E or a CAT-6 patch cable. Both tested the same. The setup of the Google Router/Mesh system was uneventful and easy. There was no setup or firmware update routine required for this CM700. I just followed the Quick Setup Guide and it was pretty much plug and play.

    Worth the money

Upgrading your router and modem is absolutely worth the money. You can have the fastest internet but if you router and modem are subpar it doesn't matter. I was having LOTS of issues running my ever increasing Wi-Fi products at my home. I increased speed and it still didn't work. Talked to my local best buy associate and he recommended using a separate modem and router and upgrading to this unit. MONEY WELL SPENT. I now run numerous smart home products, tablets, phones, and stream all my TV and have no buffering issues at all!

    Blazing Fast! Works with Comcast

Bought this as a replacement for my Arris Surfboard and its super fast and easy to install. I have a 400mbps connection and this helps get decent speeds across 9 devices in the house. I'd recommend calling Comcast after setup to make sure it's configured properly, as I had a small hiccup even after I followed the steps. Only con is that the coaxial cable tightness makes it sit a little funny.

I purchased this modem on sale and do not regret it what so ever. I set it up on black friday with ease and have not had one issue out of it. Had to call comcast for initial setup only to give them the info for the modem otherwise they show their modem as giving connection and that could possibly screw something up in the long end. No drops in connection as my comcast modem would drop every week. And im getting the speeds that i signed up for vs it was off with comcast. Very happy with this product.

I recently replaced my old Arris modem/router, and paired the netgear with a mesh wifi system. Boy am I glad I did. I always thought that a modem/router was the way to go (minimal chords/everything is in one package), until I started getting triple the internet speed by using a modem & router combo. This is a small unit, and takes up minimal space but does have somewhat of an unstable base. Coaxial cables are very rigid and heavy, which can pull this modem off balance if not secured properly. I have no other negatives to point out other than that. I grabbed this when it was on sale and couldn't be happier.

I bought this modem after receiving some advice from a Best Buy associate. I use it in conjunction with a Netgear Nighthawk AC1700 router. I am able to now get the full speed that I pay for from my ISP at 300 MPS (often even higher). I have five kids so we always have many devices running at once. Since purchasing in February 2018, I have had zero issues with this modem. I have not even had to reset it. I highly recommend this unit, and will stick with Netgear going forward!

    Economical Cable Modem

As part of reducing our cable modem charges which seem to go up many times than inflation, we purchased this Cable Modem and returned the old rental. The old one had phone connection also and since this does not have, we stopped the home IP service - one step of the chord cutting. Coming back to review of this Cable Modem, this is quite economical and it was on sale with a deep discount perhaps because of at least one generation behind. But this more than suffices for the Cable Speed we have (200 GB) and is working well with the router we have.

This replaced an much older cable modem (on Xfinity/Comcast) which was failing (had trouble connecting, speed was slow). The set-up was moderately easy, mainly because Xfinity customer service did most of the work. Connect is stable, and am now getting the Xfinity advertised speed. It is bigger than my previous one and gets hotter, so keep that in mind if you have space limitations.

... I decided it was time to stop paying Optimum a rental charge every month for the cable modem and after a bit of research I settled on this one. Installation via the web interface was a snap and I was done in less than 10 minutes. The modem is very fast and I had no issues in the 30 or so days I have owned it. The best part is that in under a year it will pay for its self from the savings off my cable bill...

Recently upgraded the speed of my internet, which then required an upgrade to the modem. After much research, I found this modem to be the better deal. Easy to set up and super fast. More modem than I really need right now, but if I increase my internet speed again, this modem will be able to handle the increase. Compatible with xfinity internet.

I got my xfinity cable and did not want to rent their equipment. They were actually nice enough to recommend this brand and model. I purchased it the same day from local story and i am happy with it since. It has been at least a month. NO problems downloading / uploading and I have about 10 + devices connected via wifi / ethernet (with help of another wifi router and switch). I am happy with this device. Thank you!

I replaced the so-called better modem from my ISP with a Netgear CM-700. According to my ISP phone support, it took two attempts for the CM-700 to connect. But once it connected, everything has been running smooth and fast. No dropouts or lagging detected. I am very satisfied and am saving approx. $12 US of monthly modem rental.
