Excellent Replacement for Comcast Cable Modem

I recently downgraded my Comcast services to just internet and was looking for ways to reduce my bill even more by buying my own cable modem. After reviewing all my options, I decided on this modem for both price and the overall good reviews it has gotten. The initial set up after unplugging the Comcast modem was pretty easy. The modem only has 1 Ethernet port the cable coax in, and does not have a wifi router. I recommend hooking up a computer to the Ethernet port to set up the modem. You will then follow the instructions on the included sheet, to activate the modem with your internet service provider. Comcast took about 15 minutes to connect with the modem and install the updates it needed. You can then hook up your choice of wifi router to be able to access your internet service from anywhere in your home. I hooked up an older Belkin wifi router. I recommend not connecting anything to the router until you have it set up with the cable modem, as it seems to cause errors. Once the router is online, you should be able to reconnect all your peripherals and wifi devices to the modem. I give this modem a 5 out of 5 stars for ease of use and price. By purchasing my own modem, I am able to save $15 more a month for renting the modem from Comcast.

Really love this DOCSIS 3.0 based modem. I had a 2.0 based modem that I have been using for 10+ years. This was a welcome change. Internet is crazy fast. I think the price point is pretty good. I have tried some DLINK based modem but never got the same performance.

We upgraded from a 16yr Time Warner modem that we’ve been paying $10 lease/month. We were getting 25mbps!! Now over 100mbps with new Spectrum rollover service, and we own a much better modem than we would have received free. We also paid for the 2yr replacement warranty.

I noticed some degradation in some of my Bluetooth devices, and Comcast said I would need to upgrade my modem. Wow, I saw a noticeable improvement immediately. I wanted a modem to put me in the GB range for the future. And it was easy to install.

I was very happy to se this go on sale, as I didnt read the best of reviews for the other Motorola one. Xfinity contacted me letting me know I needed this to keep up with my speed increase and it seriously helps. Im at the 175Mbps plan, and I easily get over 200! Thank you.

Strong performance without the light pollution...

I've owned three or four different Arris cable modems over the years, having always installed them in closets with other networking gear. Having moved to a new home, I found it necessary to setup all networking components in a guest bedroom. The light pollution from the Arris cable modem was unbearable, the lights so bright that our periodic guests couldn't sleep. So, I sold the Arris and purchased this modem. With regard to performance, I've noticed no difference between the Netgear and the Arris. I'm getting 420mbps download from the Cox 300mbps plan. The notable improvement comes in the form of reduced light output from the status LEDs on the Netgear. No more light pollution! So, if you're planning to put a modem into a bedroom, stay away from the Arris line and pickup this Netgear instead. Enjoy!

Easy to set up, good instructions, and up and running quickly. No issues streaming thus far (lots of buffering before this upgrade). No problems with internet speed. Worked fine with Cox, easy to recognize through Cox on-line tool, but no telephony capability, so you will have to split the Cox cable input and keep your old telephony modem in tandem. Unfortunately, Cox website and help desk personnel did not know the cable had to be split, and insisted that the old modem would work fine without cable input. Meant I had to waste over 5 hours waiting for a house call (arrival time delayed twice--thanx Cox!) for some dude to do what I could have done myself.

Didn’t want to rent from our provider (Spectrum). Read a lot of great reviews for this product and it did not disappoint. We are able to get the Internet speed that we pay for. Easy set up and no issues. Would highly recommend.

One of if not the best price for a great product. Didnt have to spend 180 plus for a router/modem. This modem is fast, has plenty of bandwidth, and works really well for the price. Way less than renting from your provider.

Bought this to replace CM600 that started having lag issue after a power outage. Was skeptical about this one because of the reviews with the chipset this one uses. So far it's been running great and have had no issues. Have 400Mbps internet plan and topping out at 480Mbps at times.

I replaced an older motorola modem and it only capped at 120Mbps and I was paying for a 200Mbps plan.
Bought this one, was skeptic at first. Spent 1hr with the ISP and was able to get the speeds I bought for. I have not seen any issues with this modem. Truly amazing! it does run a bit hot but i guess thats expected on any electronic

Have Spectrum 200Mbps, routinely pull down 250-300, never got that with their outdated rented equipment.
Pays for itself in less than a year. Super easy to setup and the power switch on the back makes power cycling super easy.
