Bought to split signal from wall to xbox one, Mac mini and a Marantz 7704. Works very well with no signal loss as we can tell even using the Tidal Master level.

I needed this to attach to my wireless modem, as my pc kept dropping the internet connection directly to the modem. After bringing my pc back to Best Buy a few times, with them hooking it up and not dropping, finding out their Geek Squad uses switches at the front to test computers and that's what they had mine hooked into, purchased this switch and haven't had a drop since!

I got this because I upgraded my Xfinity. Their new modem/router only has two RJ-45 ports and with my setup I needed more. So I looked for a product that would suit my needs with out a huge expense or dropping in speed.

Hooked up four items with short cat 5 cables to the switch. This required only one long cat 5 cable to the router from the switch. Do not have to worry about poor wireless wi-fi signals with a direct connection.

Works as intended. I could only get 3 connected network devices to connect. 4th device wouldn't receive signal when plugged in.

This is a good ethernet switch and works as it is intended for such a device. Its main draw is that is supports Gigabit speeds, so you don't lose much information running through your ethernet cables. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I believe it is an overpriced product, considering that it just only splits a signal and you can basically get routers today for less than $35.

Wanted to direct wire my Mac from the Router. Also have a LED TV right above the Mac. Needed to split the signal from the router into two devices. This actually gives my a better signal.

I'm using this switch behind my tv where the wireless signal is low. Works great! I'm using all 4 ports to connect my smart tv, Blu Ray player, Apple TV and Switch game console. Great not worrying about connection strength while streaming or gaming.

Due to conditions t my home my wireless signal can be spotty at times. Setting up a wired connection seems to have circumvented the connection problems. The switch is small and with enough ports to meet my computer needs. I can have more than once computer online at the same time in my home office.

I like these switches because they are so tiny. The white color also allows me to integrate the unit almost anywhere and it just looks like another appliance. I have one in each bedroom to split the wired signal between the various devices; TV, DVD, Cable Box, Game Console. They are also small enough that I can hide them behind other devices or even a picture or vase.

I use this both for my home computer and streaming direct to my TV, sometimes at the same time, without any noticeable drop in performance, even while watching HD content. Out of curiosity I ran speed tests on my computer with my modem hard wired directly to my computer and through the switch and have experienced no change. Installation was a breeze. Take it out of the box; plug in the power and the Ethernet cables and your good to go.

My Verizon FiOs Actiontec modem/router was dropping my Apple phone/iPad every 30 sec or so. After an attempt at Netgear tech support because the router was not seeing Verizon... I simply called Verizon and had them send a reset signal to the FiOs modem. The Netgear router has worked flawlessly since. I recommend the hardware if you won't have to call for support.

Excellent switch. It's been a while since I've invested in a switch, and before so, the switches I owned had an uplink port (the last port) that can be used for uplink when you press a button. This switch doesn't have that uplink port or button; any port now works to split the signal. For the price, performance, and name, it is hard to beat what's available on the shelf at a BestBuy store.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. It allows multiple devices to be plugged into the same network. Being unmanaged it is pretty much passive and just shares the signal as needed. If I were to buy again I might choose one with more ports. Seems like you can always find more things to plug in!

Good little switch for the price. No hassle setup out of the box, just plug and go. . have had one running for 3 years and bought another recently to extend after a cable drop. Definitely recommend. .

Netgear 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch works great

I bought this Netgear 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch over a year ago because I was experiencing problems with my new home router dropping the connection for my network attached storage quite frequently. The result was that indexing on the NAS would never complete. So it was always slow or unresponsive. Now I have an always on connection between my router and Ethernet which, in turn keeps my NAS connected. I also connect my other most commonly used network devices through this switch. I have had no issues since I installed this Ethernet Switch. I found it at a low price and it works perfectly. I highly recommend it.
