There's not much to say about this Netgear 8 port switch. Just plug it in and it works. I have a 1 gig network and I'm getting 1 gig speeds. I had a Netgear five port switch that still works well and needed another few ports.

It just works! 8-port gigabit switch provides great speed at the sweet spot for value and functionality. 5-port sounds like a good choice until you consider that it’s only +3 ports above a patch cord.

I use this as a second switch. I have router which goes to a switch, then run a cable from that switch, then to this switch, then to various devices. Just plugged in and it worked perfectly no settings. Perfect for me.

Great item. Better than the plastic "home use" counterparts. These usually have lifetime warranty, (I have bought 7 of them and 2 have gone bad after a few years) but it is not worth sending them in for replacement (shipping etc), as the price has dropped in recent years. But the lifetime warranty does usually indicate confidence in the item from the manufacturer. The lights are really bright at night, so not good for a room you sleep in or use a Media center/TV. They do tend to get warm to hot.

It does what it sets out to do, all while not slowing down speeds or introducing huge amounts of lag or latency. Well worth the purchase! It’s a heavy piece of equipment though compared to its actual size

Built very well and seems to manage the traffic nicely. Purchased this to go along with my eero mesh system since it become the router. Unless you know you only need 3 ports (one is mandatory for your router), I recommend the 8 so you have enough when you need it. Have a switch to turn it on and off helps increase my bandwidth at night when I turn all my connected devices off. Wireless network gets a little boost (I feel) when the mesh system is not being tasked.

This is the first time i use a device like this. I installed and is working perfect for what i need, to have ethernet in three different rooms for 5 devices connected to it. Much faster that wi-fi!!!

High quality, works perfectly, plenty of ports for my needs. I use them to run data for lighting dmx network, never had any issues.

This gig switch has run a lot of my home theater and home automation devices. I've been very pleased with the consistency and speed of this device. For the money, it's a great unmanaged gig switch.

Easy installation. Network picks up all attached devices. No conflicts with other hub to which it is connected. Clearly indicates when there is communication passing through each port.

The Netgear unmanaged switch is as simple as simple gets, a true plug & play piece of equipment, and can keep up with gigabit internet speeds.

This is a great addition to our home network. Needed extra extra ports with all the devices in our home. Easy to hook up. Netgear has always been a good product name for our house.
