Solid router, in both performance and build. Has a nice weight to it, definitely doesn't feel cheap. The Netgear UI leaves a little to be desired, but it's completely functional. It's as basic a managed switch as you can get, but that's probably what you were looking for at this price point anyway!

Truly plug and play, not plug and pray. I used this to run the wired backbone of my Deco M9 mesh, hooked it up and everything came up and worked the first time. No need to log into the device, although i did anyway from curiosity.

This switch works pretty well. It has the right features for home use and as few features that may be desired for an office.
However, the user interface doesn't give you access to very many features. If you are looking for a very robust and feature rich switch, this is not the one you want. It is mainly plug-n-play or a small network. The POE feature works well to power my wireless access point.

I wanted a switch that was (1) not plastic, (2) managed, and (3) web interface. All are met with this product, unlike the Linksys offerings which appear to be plastic boxes. Having 4 PoE (power over ethernet) device options for the future is an additional bonus.

I have two of these. They both worked fine out of the box. I have yet to try any of the special features other then POE. I have generally had good experiences with Netgear's metal switches.
Only negative: Switches has screw holes for wall mounting. The support rep I reached was not knowlegable about this. She went from no it can't to yes it can after being asked to check. I was unable to learn if there was a preferred orientation when on a wall. Also, the power cord has a transformer brick midway. There is no way to put that on a wall without fashioning something yourself.

Great little home switch. PoE is great for wifi cameras or VoIP phones if you have them. I used this for a small project for my son and it worked great. Little pricy but over all a solid home switch.

Switch works well managed or unmanaged. Just plug your devices and router into the ports and get networking. Admin interface is straightforward using the app or webapp.

Works great, powers all my POE stuff perfectly. Easy to program using web interface and software from Netgear. No speed issues. Will definitely keep with Netgear for my networking switches.

It is a great simple device, plug 1 port to your router you now have the ability to plug in 7 more hard wire items for your network. If you need POE you have 4 ports for that kind of equipment.

The GUI on the netgears are pretty easy to figure out. Setting up VLAN’s and PVIDs is pretty simple. Works well with a VLAN aware router. I have yet to have a managed or unmanaged netgear prosafe series switch fail on me.

Nice little deskop 1GBe switch. Just using at home and getting the advertised speeds through it. I haven't really used any of the management functions. I do have a Ubiquiti UniFi AP on one of the POE ports and has about 2x the load than what the port is rated for. Hopefully it holds out.

This is an outdated NETGEAR Smart Managed Internet Switch, and setting up the software to configure it is a pain. That being said, I found I gained no advantage on my cabled home Ethernet system by changing the default settings through the software. I needed this switch in a hurry, to support separate 1 GB Cat 6 Ethernet cables, for two computers, a VoIP digital phone, and another stand alone Wi-Fi router - in my new home office. It has been a few weeks now, and it all works like a charm. So, unless you have one user who is hogging all the bandwidth, there is no need to change the default switch settings. I expect for most people, just hook up the cables, power it on, and ignore it - will be the best policy. If you can wait, I suggest you buy one of the new next generation smart NETGEAR switches, that are just coming out now.

Great little switch for home or small office networks. As a SysAdmin for various local businesses I regularly implement the GS108PE in my networks. The simple NETGEAR UI makes setting up a small secure network easy as can be. However, if you're looking for a more robust solution with more advanced capabilities like advanced IPv6 configuration, you'll want to check out a different product.. However, if you just need a simple managed switch, this lineup is the one for you.

Netgear I have used their products on and of for years now, the price lured me to purchase. The product works as described and even comes with a 90-day security feature that one can extend through Netgear. Note this is a Managed switch with a WiFi dedicated port which is nice. I've already filled this switch up and it is a true gigabyte switch I get easily 750 gigabytes over WiFi with the Linksys Velop System also, purchased at Best Buy. Highly recommend this product for security and speed. I need to purchase a bigger switch now and sell this one. Thank you, Best Buy.

I needed a switch with management capabilities to extend my network to the downstairs of my house in a different subnet and this totally did the trick. PoE is nice as well because it made powering my WAP very easy. Configuration is also very easy, just plug it into your existing network, it grabs a DHCP address, then you just configure from there.
Love Netgear switches in general, this is no exception. The heavy gauge steel case gives it a quality feel and a nice look on the shelf too.

Rock solid Netgear performance. This is also Netgear's upgraded ProSafe professional/business level switch with heavy duty construction rather than their consumer level basic switch. Wasn't really looking for a managed switch but is nice to have. Originally only looking for a PoE switch supporting 4 security cameras as having issues with the prior one. It also has the necessary power to support the cameras. Obviously, couldn't find a dedicated one. This allowed me to blend together two switches, there other being a basic 4 switch as routers never have enough.
