The 8 port is the way to go for gaming. Netgear makes it easy with a unmanaged switch making it hassle free. Plug and play.

One of the easiest solutions to get super fast ethernet in a media center instead of using a wifi signal. It's as simple as plug and play, no set up required.

An excellent product, as it did exactly what I wanted it to do and it found all of the connections to the hardware that I had it connect to. The setup is very simple to do, as you just connect the Cat 6 cables to the ports in the back of the Ethernet Switch and it does all of the work for you. I say, go for it & buy this Ethernet Switch and let it do it's magic.

While wifi is ubiquitous, nothing beats a wired network when it comes to speed and reliable connection. It's exactly the reason I opted to connect this to my main mesh router because I have a media streamers, desktops and a TV i'd prefer to be LAN connected. No issues whatsoever and it works fanstastically.

I run this switch in my garage, so 13 yrs ago I bought the 1st switch, same netgear 8 port unmanaged switch, the Fl heat doesn't seem to bother it and I checked the speeds, in 70 Degree or room temp, same performance.

Seems to work as it should. Just plug in everything, your input line, and all your outputs to your wired devices. Speeds are several times faster than the WiFi. No software needed to make it work.
