Fantastic speed. I was using Brighthouse's modem and it kept hanging up on me... They wanted to come over, install a new modem, charge me more money to boost my signal when all I needed was a new modem that I only pay one fee for. I lowered my monthly bill and my internet doesn't hang up anymore. Thank you Best Buy!

Basic DOCSIS 3.0 modem, does what it's supposed to

Working for about a week now, connected to Comcast xfinity. When computer connected directly to the modem, I was able to measure 105 Mbps (on a 100 Mbps program) download speed. Through a WiFi router speeds are slower, but this is probably due to the router. Most of the time I measure much lower speeds, but I believe this is due to the cable connection sharing bandwidth across connected customers in hours of high traffic. It is surprisingly compact and relatively cheap. Comcast support reps as well as the tech who installed the service are ignorant of the fact that any DOCSIS 3.0 modem should work, not just the ones approved on their website. The one complaint I have is the need to power-cycle the modem when changing the connected device (but I do not know if this is a limitation of this modem or the technology/provider).

Have Time Warner cable internet and the modem works great with the service. Just took a couple of times calling Timer Warner to get them to activate the connection on their end. Getting consistent, fast speeds.

I upgraded my internet speed and had to purchase a new modem that could handle the new speed of 100 Mbps and this one does. Plus it was on sale. I've only had this modem for a month and it has done everything that I've needed it to do plus if I upgrade my internet in the future then I can still use this one since it's rated for up to 340 Mbps. Installation was easy.

It was easy to install and no problems with set-up - make sure you check for compability with your ISP and with your wireless router - and, your internet provider must update their system info with your new modem info or it will not work (for example, Comcast) - working great 3 weeks in

Way better than the Motorola surfboard. I've had 3 of them break just from use!!! Netgear way more reliable and worth the money, I still have my Netgear router from 10 years ago and still going strong!! wow! I could have paid more and got the combo router/modem but why if router is still working fine? Modem was a great purchase.

The purchase was to elliminate the cable company's rental for their modem for internet. The recoup of the cost will be fast because the price was reasonable. The product so far has performed as I hoped meaning I have not had any problems with it that a reboot etc would rectify. I would buy this product again.

I got this as a replacement for my wireless dual band Linksys and it was out of the box easy set up. It comes with a preset password for quick set up or you can create your own. The signal is pretty strong and goes throughout the house (2800 sqft.). Very nice and highly recommend this product!

This modem is exactly what I was looking for. I have had absolutely no issues with it and it was so easy to install. High speed and much better and faster than the modems that cable companies provide for a monthly fee. This is definitely the way to go and I definitely recommend this product!

This cable modem is small and very easy to set up. I immediately noticed improved throughput over the Time Warner rented modem. Now I'm saving $10.00 every month. If this modem lasts 6 months, which I fully expect based on other Netgear items I own, then I am money ahead every month.

After having a SURFboard cable modem for around 10 years that never failed me, I initially purchased another SURFboard when I needed to upgrade to DOCSIS 3.0 in order to take advantage of the higher speeds my ISP (internet service provider) had to offer. However, the SURFboard stopped working after about 2 days of use and I took it back. While in the store, one of the Best Buy reps recommended the Netgear CM400 which was actually $15 cheaper so I purchased it instead. It has been faithfully serving me ever since. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good solid economical choice to in order to upgrade to or get into DOCSIS 3.0 technology.

Best of all, it is compatible with Xfinity Comcast Cable system. Buying and installing this modem can save you at least $10.00 a month in equipment fees on your cable bill and works as well as the one the cable company provides. Just install it and call the cable company to send the signal.

Like everyone else, I purchased this item because I was tired of paying rental fees to the cable company. This modem is very affordable. The speeds are actually faster than the rental modem I had. I've been using it for about a month now with absolutely no issues. Love it.

Got this to replace my old RCA 2.0 modem I had with time warner. The RCA modem was having issues an I was getting less than 1mbps at best. Switched to this modem and im getting my plans max speeds of 10mbps without any hassle. Easy setup and everything is included in the box.

I switched for two reasons, 1) cable was faster and 2) I was losing signal in bad weather. However cable was charging me a monthly fee for their modem. By buying this modem, it will pay for itself in less than a year and works just as well as the one they were charging me for monthly.

Currently have 100Mbps plan from Time warner cable and when paired with my AirPort Extreme, I'm getting 118mbps to devices that have 802.11ac Would highly recommend using this paired with a good router as opposed to renting one from you internet service provider.

This modem works incredibly well. It easily replaces the modem that i was renting from my cable company. Really easy to install, just remember to call your internet company to tell them that you are updating your modem, other than that, no problems whatsoever.

I had fallen into a comfort zone concerning my ISP supplied cable modem...that is until it started failing! I was having to reboot it several times a day. On top of this, the ISP started charging me a maintenance fee of over eight dollars a month for it. I decided that it was time to buy my own modem. I purchased the Netgear CM400-100NAS cable modem because I've been very happy with my 3 year old Netgear wireless router, and it was in my price range. A representative of the ISP was present at Best Buy to configure the modem, and the home installation was easy as plug and play. I have no more Internet drop-out issues and faster through-put. I'm very happy with the Netgear CM400-100NAS cable modem.
