    I did not want to rent one from my ISP. I bought this one at a reasonable price. Setup was easy and no problems so far. I've had it for 2 months without a glitch. Rated at 340 Mbps and my service is 20 Mbps. I also have it connected to a Belkin wireless N router.

    Greatest investment in recent years. Buying your own cable modem (for $50-60) and not having to pay provider $10 or more per month FOREVER is a no brainer. I had this device for a few years now and probably rebooted it due to some malfunction (on ISP side) just once or twice. Very dependable, not very much to customize settings wise, but you don’t need to - just plug your incoming cable connection and once active, connect to your next node (router, switch, google WiFi, whatever) and take it from there.

    after years of using the same modem provided by my isp, i decided to just buy my own. initially walked into a best buy just looking to grab something cheap. saw a few different models, looked up some reviews on cnet. i went with the cm400, as it had a good review, even though it wasn't on the top of the list. so far it's been great and does exactly what i need it to do.

    For some reason, the personal modem I was using just stopped working. I've never had that happen to me—ever. My surge protector works great with everything plugged into it, so I can't say it was a power surge from a storm. So, off to Best Buy to replace and upgrade my modem. It's been all good so far, even after adding more devises (iPads, old laptop) to my network.

    I needed a Docsis 3.0 modem that could deliver speeds over 100 Mbps. Netgear was recommended. I plugged it in and called the cable company to set it up. It was easy. I now have the 100 Mbps that I am paying for from the cable company.

    I had to upgrade my aging modem due to it not being able to handle the speeds my ISP was giving me. So this one got good reviews, and I got it at a great price. I am extremely happy with this modem. Would definitely buy again.
