My previous router started to get unstable and it was when I called my internet provider I decided to look into Netgear. Per a recommendation by my provider I was told about ease of installation and troubleshooting with the Netgear brand, and they were right. Installation was quick and easy. About 2 weeks after purchase the same issue I had with my previous router happened. Thanks to the geni app/software I answered a few questions and was back up and running in no time and haven't had any issues since. For the ease of use and a strong reliable connection I would recommend this product in a heartbeat. I was interested in 2 different models at the time of my visit and the Bestbuy rep was very helpful in helping me with the final decision. This model meets my needs for a reliable home wifi.

Good value if you don't have a lot of devices

I purchased this router for my parents who don't have a lot of devices in their apartment: two iPhones, two iPads, and an Apple TV. This may sound like a lot, but since they are the only ones in the apartment (except when family goes over), only three devices intensively use the router. At a max of 700Mbps, this isn't an issue for the streaming they do on the Apple TV and the games on the phones/iPads. If you have a larger family and/or more than six devices that are routinely active and require higher bandwidth, this device isn't for you. I would recommend the Nighhawk AC2300 or higher model with MIMO, especially if you have a gaming computer. It's $100+ more, but it's worth it.

What's up guys so I bought it device for $60 and I tested for you at 100Mbit plan internet with MacBook Pro 2015 1gb LAN port with adapter Thunderbolt to ethernet connected directly to modem raw port (connected without router): - results http://www.speedtest.net/result/d/33077258 & Wifi 5Gh to MacBook Pro AC connection: - results http://www.speedtest.net/result/d/33069855 and ethernet MacBook Pro 2015 1gb LAN port with adapter Thunderbolt to ethernet connected directly to Lan router: - results http://www.speedtest.net/result/d/33076683 conclusion: if you do not want to use your cable internet at the maxim (I have 100 Mbit plan) you can bay this router, but I don't recommend! 3 star.

So I finally replaced my router that is 7 years old. Thinking well maybe I will have a better range and more stable connection. I was restarting mine twice a week. First I will admit it is stable no need to restart it the first month. Firmware update semi quick. No speed increase at all. I was hoping the wifi would have less latency then my old one. Not a huge deal anything I need to be fast is direct anyway. My biggest problem is the range on this is horrible. My old router had double the range. Going through a wall and 1 floor 30 feet away I am down to one bar. Same goes for outside porches. My old one had full bars in both these locations.

I know this is not the most expensive nor the fastest router you can buy with all the belts and whistles but this product gets the job done. I used to be with AT&T and in my area there was only 18 mbps internet speed....sad. However I recently moved 5 minutes from where I was an the high speed at this location with AT&T is 50. For a game with streaming products, call phones, tablets, and laptops running I needed more so I switched to Spectrum to get 100! Speed ok but dropped connection often. Cheap equipment from ISP. Bought this router in place of the one ISP provided and.......WOW! I have not dropped connection since connecting!

Setup is a problem with Android or iPhone

Bought this while traveling to use in hotels. Setup for Android tablet must be done through Android app or insecure website (no https), and neither work with latest version of Android (despite the box saying it works with Android). Tech support suggested I use my iPhone for setup, but that also was problematic. Cannot change username of admin. Can change factory preset passwords, but changes would not hold. I would have to reset every few sessions. There is a reset button on the device that resets it to factory. Tech support helpful, but expect long waits for help. Also, the only solution for problems is to reset to factory. Fast, stable wireless connection when it works. Setup not stable when done with Android tablet or iPhone.

No. Don't waste your money. I got 150Mbps from Xfinity and never got more than 100Mbps. Started to doubt this router and then I found out the input Ethernet is actually not supported for 1000Mbps. Max speed for the Ethernet is only 10/100Mbps, regardless of output speed so-called 300/700Mbps. Feels like been humiliated by this product. If your input is so slow it really doesn't matter how fast the output speed is. When advertise it emphasis only the output speed. AC1000? Even AC10000 won't work if you only have 100Mbps input

I was in a bind and needed a quick router for a friend. The local BB was open and this was on sale. Since this was to be used in a small home with one occupant, the device-width of AC1000 will be just fine (and he does no gaming) This was reasonably easy to set up (using the local Netgear login) and his three devices all performed nicely. That said-- this device is not up to the challenge of a family of five with five phones, three streaming TVs, a game console and five laptops. You will need to step up to the bigger Nighthawk AC3200 or bigger lines.

I decided that a separate modem and router combination was better than getting an all-in-one gateway based on my research. Setup was easy using the web interface via WIFI. There is a basic menu and an advanced menu for getting things configured. It receives the internet signal from my modem automatically. Set the security keys aka wifi passwords. That was easy to do using the web interface. This router is probably best for a one or two bedroom apartment and if you have a house you'll probably want something a little more powerful/faster, but for myself it's perfect. I haven't had any problems connecting or maintaining

    Easy Setup, Wrong Cable

The router was an easy set up. I was able to get both a 2G and a 5G network up and running in 5 minutes. Admin screens are easy to navigate, and offer a difference for casual users and power users who like to get "under the hood" and tweak features. Tested throughput, and there didn't seem to be any latency...84Mbps over Wifi. The downside? I got to connect it to my new gigiabit Internet service, and the technician politely told me the cable (the one included in the package) didn't have all the pairs to support a GB connection. So here I bought a gigabit router, and the cable doesn't allow me to connect it to a gigabit ISP? Don't forget to buy the cable!

I pay for 250 Mbps internet from Xfinity and generally have pretty good upload/download speeds through out the house, except for in my basement. So I bought this router hoping to remedy the issue. The box says up to 300 + 700 Mbps, that's 300 Mbps for your 2.5 GHz band, and 700 Mbps for your 5 GHz band. Plus, what should be even faster connection speeds through LAN connections. I never received over 90 Mbps from any of those 3 connections. This router was so slow that I couldn't even stream videos from YouTube. It was returned the next day.

I bought this router because of the cheaper price. It's for my office thats roughly 500 sqft. Setup was easy and the Netgear app is pretty cool so you can control who connects as well as ease of setting up a new login and password. The only issue is it slows down my connection. I'm suppose to get 250 mbps, wifi only give me 85, even hardlined to the router I still get 85. I'm the only one who uses wifi and I needed a router for my Sonos so I'll keep it for now unless I get annoyed by inconsistent speed.

It's been almost ten years since I bought a new router. I suddenly needed one and was told Netgear was a good company. The price point was good so I bought it. It was very easy to install the router. The instructions were clear and the router started working without any problem. I wish every electronics purchase could be like this. I'm online a lot but am not downloading huge files or a hardcore gamer. So the speed is good for my needs.

Great price for this router. I would highly recommend this product, however I struggled at first because there were no instructions on how to set it up. Putting it together was the east part, but there is no instructions that you need to download the app before using in-order to actually get the wifi. I didn't have any wifi at the time, so I needed to use my personal data to download the app. After installing the app it has worked perfect and was a great price.

A good router for the price. The installation was easy but the setup had a few challenges. The app you download to setup the router worked great until I wanted to change the password and then some problems occurred. It wouldn’t recognize my personal password and froze. I had to reset it and leave the default password at first. I was finally able to change the password later. The router itself works great and signal strength throughout the house is awesome.

I thought I had decent connectivity before but my router was old and I had to reset it more often. I bought this after reading the reviews. It was easy to set up - just make sure you go to the Netgear site. It is so much faster than my old router. I have 3 computers, 2 tablets and tv connected all the time since I work from home. I have an 1800 sf house and it works great. I can sit in the backyard and it works there too. Nothing negative to say.

I've had this router for about a month and it seems to handle what I need it to do. Works well wired to my PC for gaming and wired to my Roku for streaming. My phone connects wirelessly, but the connection for the 5ghz speed drops out when I'm in the next room. The 2ghz speed also drops out when i go in to my kitchen, 2 rooms away. Maybe its my phone or my walls aren't meant for wifi, but this router seems to have low wireless range on both frequencies.

we installed this router (some times AC1200) and we like it because it is easy to use (just every 3 minutes you don't use it need to login again) that is annoying but beside that the router works good using the wifi or a wired cable router. it is not a complicate router so if you need more advance go for the AC1200 AC1700 and also the MIimo technology. for a small home or apartment or small office is goo

Used this router to set up WiFi for an older woman who happens to be trying to setup her Alexa that she received as a present from her daughter. The setup was a breeze and I recommend downloading the WiFi app to complete the setup. It took awhile for the router to finally pick up an internet signal during setup, but once it did, it was all good from there.
