Good value if you don't have a lot of devices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router for my parents who don't have a lot of devices in their apartment: two iPhones, two iPads, and an Apple TV. This may sound like a lot, but since they are the only ones in the apartment (except when family goes over), only three devices intensively use the router. At a max of 700Mbps, this isn't an issue for the streaming they do on the Apple TV and the games on the phones/iPads. If you have a larger family and/or more than six devices that are routinely active and require higher bandwidth, this device isn't for you. I would recommend the Nighhawk AC2300 or higher model with MIMO, especially if you have a gaming computer. It's $100+ more, but it's worth it.

Great Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly. I don't see a signal issue with it and I have not had to reset it by disconnecting power. Set up couldn't of been any easier.

Very Easy To Set Up
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speed and range from this unit is very good. It has a 2.4ghz and 5ghz band. It also has a guest network SSID built in. Set up was very simple. All I had to do was connect my broadband connection to it, then I used the Nighthawk app on my cell phone to finish set up.

Good Basic Mario
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you know what I mean when I say, "My favorite character was Princess Peach. She could briefly hover in the air!" Super Mario Bros 2. I loved that game. Anyway, Peach would hover, Toad the strongest/fastest and Luigi the best jump (hilarious when he jumped and his little legs started running in the air! LOL). Then Mario. He was the balanced character, well rounded, at least decent in most everything, few weaknesses but not the best at anything. So that's what I call something balanced in strengths and weaknesses. Mario. The Netgear - AC1000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router is a Mario lol....I didn't want extras and super speed just basic capability, reliability and easy set up. You get it. It might be a bit underwhelming BUT it's realiably and dependably underwhelming.

Upgrade router for my parents
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good upgrade at a low cost. The router my parents had was having issues and wouldn't stream Wi-Fi properly anymore...lots of cutting out. Plus there was no 5 Ghz band. I paid $49.99 for this router and it does the job very well. Snappy responses over Wi-Fi for the parents Smart TV for Netflix and such, nearly immediate...much better than the older one. Highly recommended if you're not doing heavy gaming and such. One con: Be advised that you have to go into the router itself (192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 on your web browser) in order for the router to install properly, to have Windows recognize and use it, and to update any and all firmware, so it's not plug and play ready, shall we say. Otherwise, you literally cannot use the internet until this process is complete. When it's finished installing itself, no further supervision is necessary but it's that initial process...which I haven't personally seen a router need to engage in for some years...that gives a headache or two.

Good, functional router
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this along with the NETGEAR - 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. I am far from being a techie but this was easy to set up and it's working great. The signal strength in my office is very good. No complaints at all here!

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous router started to get unstable and it was when I called my internet provider I decided to look into Netgear. Per a recommendation by my provider I was told about ease of installation and troubleshooting with the Netgear brand, and they were right. Installation was quick and easy. About 2 weeks after purchase the same issue I had with my previous router happened. Thanks to the geni app/software I answered a few questions and was back up and running in no time and haven't had any issues since. For the ease of use and a strong reliable connection I would recommend this product in a heartbeat. I was interested in 2 different models at the time of my visit and the Bestbuy rep was very helpful in helping me with the final decision. This model meets my needs for a reliable home wifi.

Nice Router for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Netgear products in the past, and have never had any problems with them. Netgear is a good, recongnizable, and reliable brand that I trust. This Router has performed at that same level of reliability. For the price, this router provides adequate service to most laptops on the AC and N Networks. Many laptops like mine have a limited capacity Wi-Fi card built in to them. My Wi-Fi card is Dual-Band with 700Mbps Capacity on 5 GHz and 300Mbps on 2.4GHz. This router fits my needs perfectly, giving me the maximum possible capacity on the Wi-Fi that can be achieved from my laptop.

Its Ok
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Cheap price Small and easy to hide away if you dont want it to been seen Wifi range is surprisingly good Cons: Ethernet ports on the back are capped at 100 mbps This router is about what youd expect for the price. It gets the job done but not recommended if you pay for internet that is above 100mbps. For a little bit more money there are much better routers on the market.

Easy install, but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lightning strike killed my router, so I went to Best Buy. Rep I talked to was very helpful, and recommended this product, based on my mentioning that I only use the internet for checking email, facebook, and other simple surfing. Easy to install, and meets my needs. The only problem I have is that, regardless of what is in the installation instructions, I have not been able to change the name of the router, the password I used at installation (wrote it down, so I wouldn't forget it) does not work, and when I go to the Netgear web site, my email address is not recognized. Seems that Netgear forgot everything as soon as I finished.
