I hate configuring techie stuff but needed a new router for the office. This was really easy. You need to know a little bit about computers (terminology mainly), but not much. Just follow directions and you will be up in no time. Laptops, iPhones connect easily. No performance numbers to share but it seems responsive and we are happy with what we are getting. Had it running about six weeks now.

I've used Netgear routers before, and needed this one to function as an access point for testing. It's easy to set up and provides a working signal in difficult conditions. The random SSID and password are a nice touch, and OK for temporary applications, but you'll want to change them for a permanent installation.

The router i bought has great range inside our town home. It's a split level and the router is downstairs. I get great signal in our 1600 sq foot space. The dual band is also great with having multiple devices. Easy to use and install and there's lots of router settings to give you great control of access.

This is my first Netgear router and so far so good. The setup was simple and I was suprised how fast it is on 5G compared to plugging directly into the modem. I use 2G mostly and t is still plenty fast for what I need. Site has cable internet with 60MB/Sec +/- modem speed. This router did the trick.

I have this router installed in my basement of my two story house. The range reaches to the 2nd floor. I use both channels 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, 5Ghz whenever possible for better throughput. This thing is fast. Can access my attached hard drive at blazing speeds.

So glad I purchased was so easy to set up and works fantastic. I was looking for a new router as my old LINKSYS was no working for streaming kept crashing my Roku. NetGear was so much easier to setup, cheaper and works so much better than old router.

The router is very fast and for the price at Best Buy I think it is a great deal. Much quicker than the router I replaced. My whole family can get on line at the same time and speed remains good.

Needed a router for a rural area application to provide Wi-Fi wireless capability in the home for our smart phones and tablets. It was easy to set up and install and works great. Provides ample power and strong signal throughtout the entire house of approximately 1200 sf.

So far no issues, it works great with my cable modem. I tried a Linksys and could not access my cable modems signal GUI at 192.168.100.1. I tried for hours and gave up. This modem worked fine. Was up and running in five minutes.

I purchased this brand of router based on a recommendation from a tech friend. I bought this specific router because of its lower cost and good transfer rate. We have this router in our basement and we have not had any trouble with the signal or connecting to it from any place in our home, both upstairs and down.
One thing you should know about setting up this router is that all the documentation points you too using their nighthawk app for the setup process. I would advise you not to use the Nighthawk app to set up the router and here’s why.
I started setting up this router with the nighthawk app and halfway through the set up process I was interrupted with a matter that needed my immediate attention. After a few minutes I returned to the app to continue the set up process only to find out that I was permanently locked out of setting up the router. I submitted a ticket on Netgear‘s website and began searching their support forum for help. After reading many posts I downloaded their set up Genie software on my computer which also did not fully complete the set up process of the wireless connection. Finally I called Netgear’s Tech support. They were very helpful and nice to work with. They showed me a different method to configure the wireless router and helped me get reconnected. They also encouraged me not to use the Nighthawk app to set up the router, too late now, which is why I encourage you not to use that app.
We are very happy with this router and it does work very well for us. It has been easy to manage using the method that Netgear’s tech-support showed me. Hope this helps to keep you from making my setup mistakes.

I was shopping for a wireless router to use in temporary housing, and the Netgear AC1200 had everything I was looking for. After connecting to the cable modem, the setup was easy using the Nighthawk app on my phone. Within 15 minutes I had WiFi Internet access on my phone and tablet. My desktop computer and printer connected and work perfectly through the wired interfaces. This was a great router choice for my situation and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended

I have used this router for two weeks now and have been happy with the performance overall. I replaced an older Netgear N600 (WNDR3800) with this unit, due to the fact that this router has the new AC standard. The R6220 has performed better than my old router in every way. It connects quickly, and keeps connections. In two weeks, I have only had to reset the unit one time. (Others complained about this, but I have not experienced any issues.) I also like the Netgear Genie app. Also, for those who are interested, according to Netgears website FAQ page for the R6220, this router DOES provide Beamforming on the AC band. Overall, this has been a solid router for me so far.

This unit does everything I need it to do. Went from FIOS included router to cable company that wanted to charge a $5 monthly fee for WIFI router. Got this one on sale for $60..a no brainer. So far so good!

I purchased this router to use as a bridge from the combination modem/router supplied by my cable provider, which was failing to provide signals to "Smart" TVs in my family room and master bedroom at the other end of the house, or to my laptop when used other than in or near the office where the provider's device was located. After shutting off the wifi service from the provider's device (I found easy instructions on the provider's website), I connected this router to the modem using the supplied Ethernet cable (very easy hookup and connection to TVs and other devices using the WPS button). It's been working like a charm with no issues!
