Having changed service to Comcast recently we needed a new upgraded Modem and consequently an updated Router to work more efficiently in our home. This model from Netgear was highly recommended by the technicians at both Comcast and Netgear, and our prior experience with Netgear products was totally successful. A positive decision!

This was on a great sale during the Holidays so I decided to give it a try and I must say that I am not really disappointed but I think that I could have done better if I would have spent a few more $$ and just made sure I read closely what specs I wanted because this falls a little short in a few areas but is a great router to get in to the "AC" game with! BTW: The specs show that it has a USB 3.0 port and it's a USB 2.0 so that was kinda disappointing as well...

When I was having too many problems with my Belkin modem, I brought it back to Best Buy for an exchange during the warranty period. As Best Buy was no longer carrying the Belkin brand, I was offered the Netgear which cost slightly more but supposedly was a better modem. The modem does work well but I had a horrific challenge getting it set up so that my printer would work with it. I had to spend approximately two days on the phone with Best Buy tech support to make the printer work. The printer situation is still not what it should be (I have to frequently reset in order to make the printer connection work), but at least Best Buy tech support came through for me to resolve the situation. My advice to anyone even thinking about new computer equipment is that you would do well to pay the extra fee for tech support. I rarely call (I think this was actually only the second or third time, the previous issues being relatively minor) in several years, because I usually try to troubleshoot the issues myself. But this time it was definitely worth it. As far as functionality, the Netgear has been superior to the Belkin, so I would recommend it.

I have trouble giving this router a five star review. It is supposed to be a top of the line router but I don't feel that way. The router in bulky so not very easy to hide. For some reason it has trouble connecting to my printer. Do a lot of research before buying. It also sucks that it has split 2.4 and 5G speeds. It should be able to automatically detect this but it does not.

I recently had to acquire a new router for my dish network. I went to Best Buy and looked at the products available to me. I had a short discussion with a Cox associate in the store and decided upon this particular router after about an hour. This appeared to be the best router in a respectable price range. I have had no problems since purchasing this unit.
