I'm kinda liking the indicator lights on the top of the unit instead of the front. I keep the unit on a somewhat high shelf so I can stand up to check the lights if I need to, but don't have them lighting up the room or blinding me when I wake up in the morning and it is still dark.
Strong signal, and easy to install.
There's decent (but not awesome) web based support. When you register your product upload the receipt ASAP, even if the website indicates it is not necessary. If you purchase the product more than a few months after the release date they won't honor tech support or warranties without the receipt.

Replaced an old router and this was easy to setup and worked as promised right out of the box. Much improved range and speed. Like the built in USB storage to backup files.

Replaced an old router with this faster unit that also has a more powerful signal to reach distant parts of the house. It was surprisingly easy to install and set up.

Picked this up as I wanted to update my old Netgear router. I've always had good luck with Netgear so I stick with them. As always it's easy set up and takes no time. I like the capability to have an app on my phone (netgenie) to look at signal strength, devices, edit/view passwords and even pause internet to certain devices and much more. I have a 2 story house built in the early 1900's and the router is in the basement, never seem to have signal issues. I run 2 phones, iPad, laptop, desktop, smart tv stream Netflix and roku/sling tv on my other tv off this router, no issues.

Bought as an upgrade to my girlfriends wireless g lynksys. I am not a fan of forcing the use of web config for the router. This one does have the option to do that with web genie. But it is possible to set it up without that. And you have all options, not stripped down limited setup. It was easy to set up. Worked fine and now have dual channel 2.5 and 5, ac and n speed, still has gigabit wired ports. It does not have the chips to accelerate to 3ghz like the higher more expensive models. But fine for a couple computers, a few wireless devices, smart doorbell and security camera and smart TV.

Everyone kept telling me how much better purchasing my own router would be compared to using the one the internet company gives us, but I always just used the rental. Saw this on sale and tried it out and the speed difference was immediately noticeable.

This router is very good I would recommend this. Got it on BlackFriday only for $60. The only problem is that I can't seem to connect my 2 years old wireless printer to it.

Couldn't get my ISP to provide an upgrade to the leased modem which was stuck at B/G/N speeds in wireless.
Plugged in the netgear router, and surprisingly had better speed to the internet, even though it was being routed through the old modem. Probably because the processing of multiple devices wired and wireless was too much for the modem included with the price of internet service.
My experience probably isn't typical.
The Router is easy to setup, and offers a lot of advanced features. Peer to Peer wired is sufficient to stream from my PC to an Nvidia Shield.

Me and my roommates all go to college in the area and needed a router that could keep up with the constant use of multiple laptops, cell phones, tablets, video streaming, and some online gaming. So far the router has put out a fantastic speed for all of our devices.

Had a router give up after over 8 years of heavy use. Actually pretty good for a heavy use household. So, picked up another one. This was the best at the price point - not the cheapest and far from the top. The APP is nice and had it set up in less than 30 min. Since it's been plugged in about two months ago - it's not missed a beat. We stream through it, run around 4 tablets, and wife is an online student & I'm a gamer. So, all in all, I have nothing to complain about. If you need a good, basic, easy set up router, you could do a lot worse.

Very happy with the easy setup and performance of this router. Has plenty of capabilities for the advanced user. Very much appreciated being able to easily setup a guest network to further isolate my private devices while allowing the neighborhood kids to use my fat internet pipe. Only reason i docked a star is the range isn't very good. My 7 yr old ATT-supplied router provided wireless access 2 houses down (even though it rebooted 5x a day), but this device (set on a table at the front of the house) only has half the range.

this was a replacement for an older Netgear router that died. Within the first two wks of owning the AC1200 & after 4 calls to tech support, Netgear told me to bring it back to Best Buy and swap it out for a new one. THEN after another 3 wks of slow speeds, spotty connection and several more hrs wasted on the phone with tech support, Netgear told me that the new one was also bad & I'd have to swap it out again. Netgear informed me that it was beyond the Best Buy return period, so I'd have to ship it back to Netgear, and then WAIT until they rec'd it and shipped the replacement back to me via ground shipping. They told me that if I wanted it expedited, I'd have to pay for it. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that he would get back to me THAT EVENING about expediting it on their dime. When I still had not heard back by THE FOLLOWING EVENING, I called Best Buy to see if they would allow me to exchange it. BEST BUY was extremly helpful and allowed the return! That very night, I came home with a new APPLE AIRPPORT EXTREME. It took minutes to set it up, works great, and I'm getting better range and speed than I have ever gotten with the shoddy Netgear routers! Netgear gets ZERO STARS. BEST BUY and APPLE get 5 STARS!!!! BTW - several days later & I still have never heard back from Netgear...GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

While I am sure there are better routers out there, for the cost this little guy is hard to beat. Set up is very easy, was online 5 minutes out of the box. I get great coverage all over my apartment, have had multiple friends on multiple devices all while streaming, casting, downloading, and have had zero issues with connections or bandwidth. Take this all with a grain of salt as I used to be on cable with an outdated router, however I have yet to have to reset it, or alter any of the settings, which to me is a huge plus!
