This is probably more than enough router for a majority of homes. However, if you access from areas that require the signal to pass through multiple walls or extended distances (like the garage), you may need to move up one level to the Nighthawk series.

Only complaint is that it's kind of a pain to set up (you need to use an IP scanner to find its IP), but the range is bonkers good.

The setup is not intuitive and some non-techies would be pulling their hair out while attempting to setup this device. Once setup the improvement in network speed made it worth the money and the effort.

It works great for making the wifi reach further into the house in tandem with our original modem. Check out its specifications to see if it will work for you.
