Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, strong WiFi performance, and reliable signal strength as significant advantages. Many appreciate the adapter's good range and relatively easy installation process. While some users noted the small size of the adapter, others reported occasional software issues. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

Very fast and efficient USB WiFi adapter, So far, I have had very little dropouts when using this adapter. The WiFi speeds are consistent when downloading files, browsing the internet, and streaming videos. Super easy to set up and get it up and running. Overall, I'm very happy with this adapter.

I relocated some of my computers within the house and the old adapter couldn't get a reliable connection. I looked online to read reviews and select a good adapter that I could pick up at the local Best Buy. I went to the store, bought and brought it home and installed it. Installation was straight-forward and the adapter has 4 of 5 bars of signal reliably in the same place the one it replaced couldn't connect to the router.

Easy to install and works alongside the WiFi that is already installed in my PC. I needed a dual band with high gain antennae for streaming. This WiFi adapter met all my requirements.

Have had card for about a month now and so far no issues with it at all. Was skeptical about the speeds that it could provide over hard wire; however, it has performed up to my standards.

Purchased it as a replacement external WiFi adapter for a Dell all-in-one workstation whose built in adapter had issues with poor signal strength and sporadic connection off of a Cox Netgear router located two floors down. Installation was pretty straightforward and quick, and once the antena was pointed toward the router it was receiving and transmitting at full strength with no more drop offs.

I bought this needing to have access to 5ghz broadband signal from my router. The hardware installation was simple just plug-in the usb device and that's it. Required a software update once download but that took less than 5 min. Overall I can't complain about it, it does its job, no lag, no disconnection, and most important ,no hassle.

Purchased this for an older laptop that is running fine but the internal wifi card was an bad 2ghz card. I have a new ac router and wanted to take full advatage of my new wifi speed. This quickly connects to my 5ghz ac router (remember to turn off your computers internal wifi card when you want to use the dongle). I'm getting a constant connection of no less than 4 bars (mainly In part of the router (linksys ac5400).

Netgear AC12 - Difficult to Setup but Superb

I have a seven-year-old Dell Inspiron 660 that sits on the furthest side of the house but within 50 feet of a router. The embedded wireless card barely pulled 9 mps over an 18 month period. I have a 10-year-old Netgear dual-band USB adapter that quadrupled this, but I hoped to better this by getting the AC1200. At first, it did FAR worse. Reading up on the Netgear troubleshooting blogs and YouTubers' experiences, I followed the tweaking tips they advised. After six hours, it worked. The adapter pulls over 11 times the mps rate compared to Dell's wireless card. If you're not conversant with making general PC config/modification changes, this may be difficult. If you are, following a quick list will yield VERY satisfactory results. I ran the before/after tests once per three hours for five days, and I'm convinced. I wanted to return this, as did many other users, but am very pleased with its performance. It is unusual that these issues haven't been corrected since the product's rollout (several years?), and that one has to dig deep to yield optimum results. For this product, it is worth it.

This adapter has pretty good range - up one story and around a few walls and a door. First one died after two days, Best Buy happily gave me a new one which has worked flawlessly ever since.

I purchased this product because I broke the built in Wi-fi antenna in my laptop. This product plugs into a USB port and works very well. I have had no problems with it.
