Customers frequently mention the ease of use, strong WiFi performance, and reliable signal strength as significant advantages. Many appreciate the adapter's good range and relatively easy installation process. While some users noted the small size of the adapter, others reported occasional software issues. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

I purchased this product because I broke the built in Wi-fi antenna in my laptop. This product plugs into a USB port and works very well. I have had no problems with it.

Small remote office with 5 PCs and 6 smart phones was moved to a location that didn't have internal wiring, but had a solid cellular signal. Bought 5 of these to connect the PCs to a hotspot and works very well, even when all 5 are running multiple browsers and Internet connected programs like email. Setup wasn't dead simple, but most people should be able to figure it out without too much trouble from the directions.

I work from home, via the Internet. I have always had my desktop connected via Ethernet cable to the router. I wanted to move my desktop into another room, but did not have an ethernet connection. I installed this adapter, and it has worked very well. For the work I do the speeds are excellent, and the connection works without flaw so far. I recommend this product.

I used this to upgrade an older PC I have whose built in Wi-Fi was subpar. Best performance using USB 3.0. Fast and stable.
It will work with any router.
I like Netgear products for the most part but their customer service is horrendous, word to the wise.

This device is good for a desktop that does not have WiFi capability. You can plug it into an open USB and move around as an antenna. Setup was easy; have not experienced any issues.

I'm a network consultant. I buy these often.
I download and install the "standalone" installer. I don't use their "wizard" that takes over control of windows wifi settings. The wizard works fine...it's just unnecessary.
I know wifi 6 is available now...if you don't need wifi 6 this is the one to buy.

Bought this wireless card to see what max speed I can get using our AC wireless router. Was able to get around 300Mb on 2.4Ghz and about 800 on 5.0GHz

This is a great wireless adapter. Range is great and is plug and play for most versions of windows. However, if you need to install on Windows 10 machine, make sure to download the updated Drivers directly from Netgear's website for this model. You can do so from another computer and transfer driver/install files onto your USB key if the computer you're installing the USB adapter on doesn't have an internet connection.

This was easy to install. You plug it in, it finds the wireless signal, and takes it from there. Very easy to convert an older computer to wireless.

I was given an older desktop computer that previously only accessed internet via an Ethernet cable and wanted to use it wirelessly so I picked this up. Relatively inexpensive it allowed me to use the desktop over WiFi. Installation was easy plug and play. It comes with a software disk you can use to install software locally.

I wanted something to connect a refurbished desktop to my wifi, since I didn't have an ethernet drop in my library. This was easy to install, set up, and works... matter of fact, using it now to post this review.
Came with an install CD, and honestly, I rarely use those since I can usually update to latest drivers/etc after installation, but since I was not currently connected to the internet, that was not an option. Regardless, installation was quick/easy. In short, installed some software from the CD, then I plugged in the wifi adapter, and it walked me through connecting to my wifi.
I've used a few different models over the years and I can assure you, this is as easy as I've ever experienced installing a wifi adapter. Connection is strong and reliable, I wanted one with a cord so it isn't affixed to the desktop, in case of interference caused by the desktop power supply/fans/pixies I have installed.
It is capable enough to game on, stream on, etc... Just ran a speed test and I am getting > 100MBps download. Upload is <4MBps but oh well, could be my internet limit anyway.
Netgear wifi adapter + Windows 10 + refurbished HP desktop = library media PC.
TL/DR: Recommended. This is the one you want.

Simply just works. I've been a MAC guy for the past 10 years however I wanted to get into the PC gaming world and just built a new rig. My motherboard didnt come with a built in wifi chip so I picked this up to get with my Netgear Nighthawk router. I am gaming in the basement and this has no issues picking up signal. My speeds were 85down and 15up. Little pricey but you get what you pay for!
