Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, strong WiFi performance, and reliable signal strength as significant advantages. Many appreciate the adapter's good range and relatively easy installation process. While some users noted the small size of the adapter, others reported occasional software issues. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

I think the use cases for a USB WIFI device are very limited. In my case I didn't want to purchase a PCI-E card, which would be a better (less conspicuous) way to go for a desktop. I needed WIFI for my desktop without any reasonable way to go wired (stringing ethernet cable across the floor). The router (XFinity specialf) is in another room. There is one wall separating, about 20 feet. I pay for up to 100 Mbps down/5 Mbps up. Speedtest.net results at 7:43pm on a Friday night: ping 14ms, 94.34 Mbps down/6 Mbps up 7:43pm. I can't complain. No issue for 30 days. I run Windows 10 64-bit Home Edition. It works.

Great for getting maximum speed to your device over WiFi. Easy setup and installation. Setup disc is provided, but drivers often already found and windows certified.

My Surface Pro 3's built in wifi chip stopped working and nothing worked uninstall/re-install in device manager. The Netgear wifi adapter works with the SPro 3 and it is pretty fast. There is only one USB port in the SPro 3 and I have not had to use two USB devices at the same time. I'm thinking a USB will work if that happens. Best buy had this in stock and I was able to get back online the same day.

Works, I only use it from room to room through one wall. Gave it a four of five because I haven't used it beyond that and only to pick up one device. The price was perfect.

My desktop has a sub-par wireless chip, it is placed in the back of my house and the signal is relatively weak. Tried a wireless extender before but the connection was unstable, and even with the extender I did not see a significant boost on the speed. After some research I decided to try out this out, and I'm happy - it's been working very well. Pros: -Easy to connect and install drivers -Wifi reception is pretty stable and I am able to reach the maximum internet speed (100 Mps) from my router -The extension cable is a plus, it adds a lot more flexibility Cons: None so far

I purchased the NETGEAR - AC1200 Wireless adapter for a desktop computer located in a bedroom far from the cable route/modem. I had tried OTHERS with no improvement as far as lagging and disconnections , BUT THIS ONE HAS BEEN GREAT!!! Works very well! Definitely improved connection issues.

Had a Linksys prior, would shut down when most needed. This unit is very stable. I really like the fact that it has a driver supplied from Netgear and they provide updates. The previous unit had a generic driver and not a manufacturer supported driver. Again this unit is very stable.

I don't love it and here is why. It's REALLY good in a lot of ways BUT I have the same issues that a lot of other users have...initial connectivity when first starting the computer is wonky a lot of the time. It connects, then drops, then connects, then drops. This will repeat for several minutes...and then be rock-stable all day. I've used it on three computers (two new, one old) and had the same issues on all. I've gone through many forums and sites looking for causes/solutions and found nothing that actually works (for me). Haven't been able to accurately test whether or not it is a software or hardware issue, but at this point it doesn't really matter. It is more of an annoyance, than a deal-breaker. The connectivity speed once the handshake with the source-signal actually holds is very good. It does a very good job working in and around clutter between the source signal and the computer (I tested direct line of site and through multiple rooms, with many random objects in the way). Overall, it's quite good but as they say, your mileage may vary.

Bought this when I relocated my FIOS router and didn't want to run a long Ethernet cable. It installed easily in my Windows 7 desktop and provides exceptional connection speeds, faster in-fact than my HP laptops built-in.

My laptop wouldn’t connect to my home WiFi and the tech @ BEST BUY recommend this item to fix the problem. It turns out that the issue was unrelated to connectivity so, this device was unable to fix the problem. If connectivity is your problem, I would recommend this device.

This was easy to set up and small enough to fit any where on your desk. The signal is strong from the wifi unit and it just seams like the computer came with wifi.
