My router died so I needed a quick replacement. After a brief amount of research decided on this model as I had been happy with Netgear routers that I had set up at work in the past. This one was easy and quick to set up and we were soon up and running! I do some online gaming (mostly iRacing) as well as streaming video and have been quite happy with the performance. Range is good enough to cover the entire house. No dead spots on all three floors with the router installed in the basement. No issues even with about a dozen people online during the Superbowl! Absolutely recommend this router!

It seemed like the range dropped off for the 2.4 and the 5ghz bands at almost the same level. The range for 2.4 was a bit better, but not much was gained by staying on the 2.4ghz band. Simple to setup, and the app controller for the device that you can use on your smartphone was interesting. Not a whole lot of utility for the app, but it still was a nice feature. Considering the cost, I would definitely recommend this for a single leve, to two level family home of moderate size. I didn't get to toy with the hard drive access (you can plug a portable hard drive in the back which allows any user on the network to read).

This product was easy to install. Has increased the distance of access to my wifi connection. And increased the speed when more than 3 devices are connected to wifi.

This router is great. The signal is strong enough to go through 3 floors. I get 100Mbps wireless which is the same as my devices connected wired. Easy to setup.

Came into the store looking to buy a wifi extender. When a salesperson approached me and asked if he could be of assistance I did have a few questions. He listened very carefully and asked a few questions of his own. I really appreciated that he knew what he was talking about. Since my router was several years old,he lead me to first try a new router. I took it home and hooked it up and it does exactly what I wanted it to do.Very happy with it and Best Buy.

When my family and I had awful internet (our router was mega old), our television provider told us to upgrade. I went to Best Buy and one of the blue shirts said this was a great choice especially for a family of 5 like us (but can be used for more than 5), and has excellent coverage. The price was not too bad, and I bought it on the spot. After I set it up (installation was easy), our internet now works amazing. There have been a few lag spikes but I think that is common, and the speed is fast. Overall I recommend it and it's a great buy!

Strong wireless router. I have a 3000+ sqft house and it covers it with ease. Setup is relatively easy for someone with a basic computer knowledge. Very easy to secure from unwanted users, and it lets you set up guest user account, so you never give out your personal router information. Multiple devices at once on system, to include gaming on xbox, while streaming netflix, and general internet usage by other devices, such as smartphones, ipads, and laptops with no disruptions or slow downs to any user. It is a bit more expensive than your typical router, but worth every penny.

This router is attractive, tucks away nicely because of it's thin profile and most importantly, even with multiple devices running off of it, It's blazing fast.To give an example of the reliability, I keep the router on the third floor of my home, can be 2 story's below and still get a fast internet connection with no issues. There's also a genie app that you can download on your phone or tablet, that makes for easy management of the device as well. In my opinion, if you're looking for a good router this is it!

I am an IT guy and had to get my parents a new router when I was home. This is a solid option for someone that doesn't want to drop 200 dollars on a nighthawk (though you should, its worth it). This works just as well as the others do with the Genie app so you can control it from your phone or tablet. Solid range, good speed. Something like this is much better than a Wireless N router. Handle plenty of bandwidth. Had 7 people on devices simultaneously and was no drop off from it. Another great Netgear router.

HUGE Upgrade from old router

Upgraded from 4 year old linksys router that was too old to update firmware and was cutting my signal strength in half. I was going to buy a replacement router from Netgear for around $50, but how often do you buy a new router, every couple of years or so? I have the blast Internet speed and am supposed to be getting 50 Mbps, but my old router was putting out around 16 Mbps right in front and like 3 Mbps upstairs.
This AC router from Netgear has somehow boosted my speed to over 100 Mbps in front of it and still around 90 Mbps upstairs. I ran all of these tests for speed on the speedtest app for my phone. I am running it on the 5 GHz option since it's a dual band router. There's less interference on the 5 GHz than on the standard 2.4 GHz that the cheaper routers use.
I treated myself on the AC1600 and you should too. It's infinitely better for online games and working from home in my home office. Downloading a 1 hr HD episode from iTunes takes like 2 minutes. I downloaded a new music album onto my phone in about 30 seconds. It's crazy. This sounds like a major commercial for this Netgear router, but that's how pleased I am with my purchase.

I paid a little more for this router than my last one. I was told by my cable/internet tech. that Netgear would be better than the linksys router that I was replacing. At the store, the employee also recommended Netgear. This unit is sleek nice warm accent lighting. It was easy to install and has been working great. Only complaint I have is that it does not put out as strong of a signal as I was hoping for but does cover all of my 3 bedroom house.

After moving to a bigger split level house, and not wanting to pay the cable company for their router every month, I wanted something good and with enough range to cover me. Of course Netgear is a very good brand, and this version has proven to have more than enough power and range. Even outside and out in the back yard. Multiple devices, full coverage, quick and easy set up, no isues. Plus, it looks cool and sleek too (personally not a fan of the bug antennas many other models have). Did have to replace the first one after about a week and a half, but that was due to a lightening storm and it not being on a surge protector (yes I know, definitely user error, my bad). No hassle exchange at Best Buy, surge protection in place, all is good now. No complaints.

Had a Netgear router previously for about 10 years and was experiencing connecting issues to my internet, Spoke to an associate at Best Buy and decided to upgrade to a stronger router since my needs for wireless connectivity had increased recently. It was the right decision. We have had no issues connecting since the upgrade.

Purchased this to replace a Belkin AC class router that was having trouble with limited range and dropped connections. The Netgear router has yet to drop a signal and is covering 2 floors of my home without having to use any type of signal booster. Very easy to set up.
