    Great All Purpose Router

I purchased this router to replace a Linksys router that was five years old. So glad I did. For those who have not replaced their routers in a few years, you should definitely consider it. New routers are multi-band, and this one allows "Beam Forming" (using the antennas to direct the signal to your wifi equipment) and QoS (Quality of Service) - allows you to prioritize which devices (e.g., TV streaming Netflix) gets the most access to bandwidth. The interface is quite user friendly - setup was very easy. The unit is big - much larger than my old router - but powerful and I noticed a difference immediately when downloading large files. I gave it four stars because the documentation had to be downloaded separately (go to NetGear and download the user manual to get to all the special features this router has to offer). This router is designed for homes with 10 or more wifi devices, and would certainly work as the hub to a smart home setup. There are two USB ports, 2.0 port (good for a printer) and a 3.0 port (good for fast access to an external hard drive for backing up files. So far, I'm very impressed. You can pay more for a router, but this one will do the job for most people.

With my old router I was able to obtain 15-20 mbps download speeds on tablet or phone (paying for 60); with the new router I consistently get 55-60 mbps on all devices. Netflix and other streaming services now work flawlessly. Range is also significantly improved. Very easy to install and set up.

Easy setup, fast speeds, and doesn't need to be reset every day like the router it replaced. Very consistent and reliable. Best feature might be the free, built-in Circle service, providing household device management and monitoring.

We have a two-story house, and my boys were always complaining about the slow network they had upstairs. After researching options we thought the NETGEAR - AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router would help. Connecting it to our home network was simple, and all the 'lagging' issues have been solved! The boys have enjoyed non-interrupted gaming ever since! Now if only I could find a network to get them out of the house! LOL

I own two of these and both of them have been excellent. No lost signal or drop outs. Range is amazing and features are easy to use. The dual band has been great and allowed me some flexibility for who is on what channel at home. Highly recommend, good solid router that is super fast.

I am super stoked on this router so far. I purchased this unit to replace the Fios gateway router (I just started internet svc only), and this was the easiest setup I could have hoped for. The entire process took about a half hour. My download and upload speeds are pretty good, and I am still getting signal downstairs (the Fios unit was dropping in and out). My place is about 1200 sq feet, so I’m not sure if I’ll need an extender after all. Out of the box, I couldn’t be happier.

My old NetGear router had served its purpose, but was waning considerably. It was a $50 router that wasn't up to the task of supporting several devices in a household at high speeds. My last speed check was 15 mps through the wifi and I am paying for high speed (75 mps through Xfinity). I was seeing issues like interruptions in streaming on certain apps (particularly on my Amazon Fire). I found the NetGear Nighthawk advertised on sale as a clear upgrade for the house with several devices pulling from WIFI. Cutting to the chase, the sales rep highly recommended the router, it was actually $10 below the online advertised price ($98) and it was easy to install. Everything is now purring at high speeds. My last check was 88 mps through my phone and my streaming apps are now performing much better as well (quicker loads and no freezes). As long as I get at least 2-3 years out of this router, money well spent and I highly recommend.

I was using an older Linksys router before, and it worked OK for years at fairly low internet speeds. However, I noticed that although my ISP increased my internet speeds, the Linksys would drop back from about 20mbps to around 6mbps. When I unplugged it and plugged it in again, it would revert to the 20mbps, but then, drop back soon after. So, I saw this Netgear 1750 on sale and decided to buy it. Set up was fairly easy. I especially like the LEDs that let me know which connections are in use and other information. At night, when I leave my computer room, they act as a night lights to let me see my way out of the room once I turn off the overhead light. I'm basically very satisfied with it. The only minor negative thing I've noticed about it is that it's very near my speaker system, and I notice some high speed clicking noises in the sound system now occasionally. However, I can cancel it out to a great extent by moving the antennas around. I thought briefly about getting the Netgear 1900, but now, I see no need for that additional speed.

Purchased this product on 1/23/16 and on 3/24/16 it stopped working, tried reset unplug all the first things you learn dealing with technical stuff. Sad thing is Best Buys return policy is only good for 15 days. The router was very fast while it worked with not much lag time at all. I will say that I did buy the same model to replace it in hopes that the first time around was just a fluke.

This router replaced an older Linksys wireless router. The wi-fi range is very good, especially when mounted high on a wall. It also has excellent security features. I like how you can set up an open guest network that's blocked from accessing your secure home network, and having dual bands is quite a luxury. That might sound a bit complex for the average user, but Netgear makes set-up a breeze. You can't go wrong with this machine!

I purchased this router with the Arris sb6190 to increase my speed and to continue to avoid TWC equipment rental fees. This is a very easy install with the Genie software and app for android. But beware, if you have Kapersky Anitvirus it will not let you use the Genie software nor can you log into the router with the IP address. You MUST uninstall the anitvirus, then install the Genie software or you will not be able to log into the router and make any changes. It took several hours checking Netgears forums to find the article that stated Kapersky was the issue. After logging into Genie once you may reinstall Kapersky and it will resume working. The speed has been great, phone app is great and options are also great! Recommended highly!
