Talk about solid performance. This is it. This Netgear AC1750 expands and delivers good coverage with another Netgear Wireless Router. Follow your instructions, and overall, it's a fairly simple set up. For peace of mind, you could pick up Bestbuy's additional insurance. That would be a positive thing. A++ all around.

Did not improve internet speeds for me so I ended up returning it. I live in a brick house with 1GB fiber internet. Router is on 2nd floor. Speeds on 1st and 2nd floor were decent around 150 - 200 mbps, dropping to 20-30 mbps in the basement where the home office is. The Extender boosted speeds only to 60 mbps only. Interestingly, when I lifted up the router off the floor using an empty cardboard box, speeds went up to 70 mbps in the basement and upto 300 mbps on the main levels of the house which are very acceptable speeds for my purpose. I definitely recommend doing this first before purchasing an extender. An issue for those with older homes - the extender has a 3-prong grounded plug, which limited where I could plug it in. I wish it had only 2 prongs for those of us with older homes. This extender does have a nice app, so set up was straightforward and I did not to run back to the router to press the WPS button each time I moved it to another outlet.

Was having issues with some dead spots/slow downloads in parts of out house. Main router is in the basement, but in the upstairs bedrooms coverage was spotty. That issue was taken care of with the NETGEAR extender. Set up is very easy and quick.

I have an older Netgear AC1750 router and this extender is just a plug and play. It also has a wired access point for an ethernet cable. But what I really like is the ability to use the same network name without the _ext being added. Although not needed to operate, it has downloadable software from Netgear that allows you to customize the signal. It can extend both my 2.4 and 5GHz signal using the same network name or by adding the _ext; it can take the signal from my router and convert it to just a stronger 2.4GHz signal or to just a stronger 5GHz signal. It also allows you to see which devices are connected to it and at what frequency. There are additional customization options as well. I am very impressed for a moderately priced extender.

works well with orbi mesh network

Over a year ago I bought an Orbi system with only one satellite. It works pretty well, but there was a shaky coverage area downstairs that the upstairs router and satellite weren't reaching well. And we wanted to install a smart TV there. The smart TV wasn't able to maintain a solid connection to the wifi network. I went looking for an Orbi satellite on its own. I could not find one besides the SUPER high end $300 outdoor one. At that price I could just buy an entire new mesh network system! I found this AC1750 and liked that it had an ethernet port so I could potentially hardwire the TV into it. I was afraid setup was going to be difficult, but WPS worked on the first try with the Orbi router. Unplugged it. Plugged it into the outlet behind the TV. Plugged TV ethernet cable into the AC1750. Green lights all around! TV is now streaming and has no network issues. In summary: worked seamlessly integrating into an Orbi mesh network. :-)

Bought this to extend my wi-fi signal to the far end of my house with higher bandwidth versus lower models. With both 2.4 and 5G, versus my previous extender (2.4 only), it was nice to see both signals appear on my devices. Only reason for loss of 1 star is that the speed didn't quite meet expectations. Still a good item to consider if you are having signal issues. Enjoy!

Bought this range extender to do exactly that, extend the range of my 5G wireless network. Set up was fairly easy and was pleased to find out that indeed it does increase signal strength in the spotty areas of my house. I also liked that it works like a mesh so it does not put an "EXT" on your SSID. You can roam freely and your device will switch to capture the strongest signal. The down side or the but.. in my summary is that for me I found there was a price to pay for an extended signal. It seems to rob bandwidth from your main router to enact the boosted signal. I did speed tests before and after adding this extender and it dropped significantly even standing next to my main router. Just have to decide if that is an acceptable compromise.

great extender, works through concrete walls. I had purchased another one and it simply did not work. this one also keeps your one singular wifi name it doesnt create a new network name like "extended_wifiname" which is so awesome

Great extender. If you download the Nighthawk app, it’s a breeze. If not, just use the Wi-Fi, mywifiext.net to connect, I hooked up our main home and our cabin. World of difference, Now I can listen to Pandora music out back, with doors and windows closed. A little tricky at first to hook up but follow dirs. Also, you can download a. 80 page manual online for free if you need further assistance. Remember to connect to mywifiext.net first for hookup, then it will dir you to put in pswd for your wireless router. Highly recommend
