I purchased this to keep my old laptop working when the internal WiFi card stopped working. It plugs into any available USB port and quickly restored connectivity for my computer. Reception seems stable and strong and the included software provides good status information. However, it seems much larger than competing products and sticks out significantly from the side of the laptop. Be sure you have substantial clearance on either side, and be careful you don't break it off if you customarily use your laptop in your lap.

needed to connect my desktop via wifi because i didnt want to buy a friggin long cord. the adapter works as it should and glad i dont have to use a long ethernet cord
