We have had issues with certain dell onboard WiFi cards and linux due to firmware and os incompatibility. Getting these usb cards resolved the problem.

My desktop computer came with built-in Wi-fi, but is only received a weak signal from my router. I bought this, plugged it in, and had a full Wi-fi signal. A good purchase for my needs.

Worked fine until you tried to upload(downloading seemed fine) a large file and would stop working. When you would touch it would be very hot so assuming it was overheating, would work fine again after being removed for a while(cooled down). Had bought this after a cheap one was doing the same.

tl;dr it's fine but it's not the best. Get an internal PCIe card instead if that's an option. I used this in my 1st Gen i7 desktop for several months and it functioned, but it wasn't very good. I was about 12 feet from the wireless router (which was fairly new and a Netgear nighthawk) and connection wouldn't drop (windows didn't show a drop), but would seem to "stop responding" periodically and speeds weren't very good the rest of the time. I think it may have been an issue with USB, because I ended up getting an internal PCIe WiFi card and never had the issue again. Bottom line, it's fine but ymmv

The wireless router supplied by my fiber provider is supposed to support twice that speed but I top out at 300 with actual throughput being slightly less. It is significantly better with a Netgear R7000 router.

Bought this device to connect an older computer to WIFI without drilling thru walls and floors. Worked but would not give me great speeds. Returned it and got an AC1900.

Works pretty good but you need to be kind of close to the WiFi router. I bought this for a quick fix until my WiFi 6 card came in the mail. Cheap is a good backup plan.

Gave my old computer to my nephew, it didn’t have wireless and his room was too far to run a cord. We got this and it gave the computer wireless internet.

I have a very old laptop and have N wireless adapter but my service provider provides me 200 mbps speed After purchasing this device i see lot of difference. I recommend this product

Have a laptop that was not able to keep a WIFI connection, which was very frustrating! Found this as a solution in reading other reviews, and it was worked great!!!

since dell would not honor the warranty, I was forced to purchase this to access the internet. works fine but takes up one of the usb ports on my laptop!!

My laptop is old and the hardware for internet connection was not working. I bought this on the advice of the Geek Squad. Fixed the problem for a good price.

Great AC wireless USB unit, if you're looking for a quick way in a business to get wireless to a desktop this will do the trick.

I needed to repair my computer. Apparently, my $200 purchase of a Geek Squad subscription was not enough. I picked up the computer to find that adjustments had been made, but, to repair it, I needed to find a "wifi adapter," for an extra charge. I was sent to a part of the store, but no such product was there. After about 5 minutes of searching, I found an employee, who showed me the shelf where wifi adapters were. I did not know what to buy, and there was nobody to help. Finally, I chose one, and it worked. I got lucky.

Had to find a way to make the desk top go wireless wow am I impressed. No signal drops it’s great.

I picked this up for a small media center pc I had built and works perfectly fine. Connects quicker then a asus one I had after waking up from sleep.

Wifi quit working on the secretaries pc. Needed something quick and cheap to get her back online. This did the trick. Had no issues and she was back and working next day.

Device did what I purchased if to do. Seemed a bit pricey. Twice as much as first product that was recommened to me by Best Buy staff. First item was out of stock.
