If you're considering this product, stick a hot needle in your eye instead. Absolute junk!! Dont believe the good reviews! Complete waste of time picking it up, connecting it, downloading the app, and farting around with it. I should have repacked it when the app prompted me to scan the QR code on the router, only to find there isn't one. I'll never, EVER buy another netgear product.

Not as solid as I hoped. Drops connection and speeds randomly. Have only changed the basic network ID and passcode.
That was pain in itself cause Netgear was asking to create an account. Yeah, pass.

Never has a connection, always have to fiddle with

Constantly shows up as not connected. I have to fiddle with the app every single time I try to connect anything with this router, even when hard wired from the router to the computer it gives me issues. Miserable owning experience. I will be returning and trying another brand. Unfortunate because netgear has never let me down in the past. I got this unit to use for wireless gaming and to provide a better signal throughout the house. I have had to connect to my old router almost every time i use a device in the house because the netgear router has lost connection. Stay away.

These Netgear routers are a good value, the wireless coverage is excellent for the price, at 802.11ax the speed is very good as well. Often we use these units as WAPS for small offices when installing a next generation firewall which has no wireless capability. I recommend as a good buy based on price to performance.

Disappointing Router

I bought this to replace a router that started to have issues after about 5 years of use. This one had a lot of issues at day 1. I have had to reset it twice today because my wifi randomly stopped working twice. Streaming TV buffers quite a bit, something that never happened before. This router had great reviews - I’ve been frustrated and disappointed since I started using it.

First, I had great difficulty making their smart phone app work, but that app is required in order to set up the router. I spent an hour on the phone with Netgear tech support, but the phone app did not work correctly until I rebooted my phone. Then, I was unable to connect my laptop to the router. Again, spent more than an hour on the phone with Netgear tech support. They finally had me turn off the AX function on the router and rely on the older AC technology, but that defeats part of the reason to buy this router. Then I found that my printer and the new router did not recognize each other's existence. Netgear tech support was not able to help me with that. I finally got tech support from the printer company to help me make the connection. Everything seems to be working now, after hours of frustration. I am not likely to ever buy from Netgear again.

Z7 Missing Battery

Unfortunately, my camera was missing the battery. This was very strange. This concerned me in thinking that someone may have opened and used the camera so I took the camera back to the store. They reordered a new camera for me. I should get my new camera on July 15. I’m sure I’m going to love the camera once I get a chance to use it. I’m still stunned that an expensive camera would be shipped without a battery, but it did. I hope they can trace and find it, can’t use a new camera without a battery.
