Bought it, took it home, hooked it up to the modem...worked fine! It's easy to setup & the settings are easy to use. But... we also have a Seagate GoFlex 2Tb network drive we have ALL of our music & movies on... It DOES NOT recognize the GoFlex when it is connected so we have no access unless we directly connect it to each device & no remote access since that has to run through the router. Called tech support did some troubleshooting... No luck. They say it SHOULD recognize it...so they are sending out a new one, but it's been over a month and it has yet to leave their warehouse. Our old Netgear router worked fine...no probs, which is why we went with Netgear again. Hopefully the replacement will work as it should.

It is the most expensive router on the market, but that is only because it is the best. I quickly got spoiled on the lightning fast connection I get with it. Not to mention how easy it is to set-up and manage with the Netgear Genie app.

We needed a stronger router in the WORST way at our house! With 4 smartphone, 3 laptops, 5 TVs, and a standard computer, getting wireless was very difficult with our old router and expander. My husband was not thrilled about spending the money on the device at first but, now that he sees it is working well, feels it was worth every penny!

I gave this a good rating because the one I have now works very well and has a USB 3 port I wanted for future storage attachment. The bad news was the first two routers were defective. The first one I could not log into and after working with Netgear I was told to return it. The second one developed a bad Enet port that goes to the modem. So the third one is working great. I stuck with it because I have had good experiences with Netgear and I really wanted that USB 3 port. The top rated Asus router only has USB 2. I have a lot of stuff attached, both wired and wireless and everything performs well on this router. I recommended it based on my needs and it's performance, not it's out of the box experience. (Best Buy was great about returns).

Longtime Linksys user came to Netgear seeking reliable QoS. Netgear solved my issue and improved upon speed . Though I gained on some fronts I had to give up in the realm of distance and access controls both stronger in the Linksys. The Netgear interface with OpenDNS would be a much greater feature if it could be directed at specific IPs, or MAC addresses. Its not that the netgear was bad on distance it just that its not as great.
Netgear pluses include metering controls and information on both the port and appliance level which I haven't seen in other home routers.

My old router had seen better days, and when it finally stopped working, I decided to step up to a dual band router. The laptop and Sony Blu-Ray player in the back bedroom hadn't been getting a fair share of the wireless signal from my old router, so the dual bands seemed like a good way to make sure all my devices were sharing properly. Installation was a breeze, and the first thing I noticed on my laptop was the signal strength. It was maxed out, and I loved it! No problems using this whatsoever, I'd buy it again if I needed to, but I don't think I'll need another one for quite some time to come!

After some hesitation to spend $200 on a wifi Router, I am very pleased with the netgear. This is an excellent router, easy to set up and hasn't failed to connect my devices, it hasn't locked up and needed resetting and then reconfiguring, and it hasn't dropped its security.
I use it for wifi video streaming to tv's, laptops, wireless printers, IPhone, IPad and CCTV DVR( easy to configure for wireless viewing of cameras) on mobile devices with in private network or over the Web.
I am very pleased and would definitely recommend spending the money for no worries. "Set it and forget it"

Replaced a very old Netgear router that was trouble free for several years. Need more power because everyone has phones, ipods and laptops. This thing is unbelievably fast and setup was a snap. Love it.
