    Early adopters syndrome

I've been running this router for a little over a month now. It's not bad, but it's not a $200 router either. The user interface is the same as the rest of the Netgear router line for the last 3 or 4 years. The range is consistent with my last Netgear WNR3500L (average, not great, but worth while). I have yet to get a device to connect at 802.11AC speeds. I purchased a new intel wireless card with 802.11ac support for my laptop (mPCIe) however I cannot get AC speeds. I can't tell if this is the wireless card, drivers or issues with the router. This is what I refer to as early adopters syndrome. You can't get the advertised features because it's so new you can't identify where the problem is. Despite this though it's a good router and hopefully in the future things will start working themselves out. Also the IPv6 autoconfig severely slows down the connection. I've petitioned Netgear for Hurricane Electric tunnel support. Hopefully they can implement that soon.

This router has it all. Terrific range - router is in the basement and I can still get solid coverage on the second floor of the house. Solid UI - the interface is very intuitive and allows for tons of customization which is great for guest networks and parental controls. All of this can also be easily managed on your smart phone as well!

We have 3 floors, old Linksys constantly had to reboot and range was only one floor but have had the Netgear for 2 months and has been working great. With this router we have a signal on each floor. Router is in basement and my kids use WIFI computers and Xbox on third floor without problem.

I had used a number of bargain routers in the past - when the last one become particularly unreliable (needing reboots every few days, devices in the house dropping the wireless signal, etc.) I broke down and looked up CNET's top pick. This router has been rock solid since I turned it on, and all of the instability on my home network has been resolved.

Replaced a G class router primarily because we had wifi dead spots in our decent+ sized house. Configuration was straightforward and simple. Wifi coverage in previously suspect spots is now resolved. Not sure its worth the price - particularly given the lack of standardization on the A C technology but its doing exactly what we want it to so far....

I needed a reliable router for a small professional office with three computer stations and various other electronic devices. This router was chosen by my computer consultant. So far, it has functioned well. Connection speed is good. We have only had it installed for about a month, but are very pleased with it so far.
