My largest complaint was spending 5 hours of my allotted cell minutes with men in India that I could barely understand. I would recommend this product as long as you don't need customer service.

Despite claims from my cable company supporting the Motorola SURFboard eXtreme Wireless Cable Modem(router combo) 6580, I grew tired of all the drops I was experiencing. Research on the internet showed this was a firmware issue with the router side of the Motorola. With DOCSIS 3.0 the firmware can only be updated by the cable company (ISP provider). The fix had been made by Motorola in the latest firmware update. After numurous phone calls to tech support and multiple visits by the KNOLOGY cable Tech support people, it became apparent after three months this company did not or refused to acknowledge it was their responsibility to update the firmware. It cannot be accomplished by the user. The Motorola SB 6580 is a great piece of equipment, However, with the apparent lack of support even after claims it is supported by Knology Cable I decided to Bridge (Bypass) the SB 6580 Router portion. The NETGEAR - Wireless-AC was easy to setup, It has 3 seperate networks that can be running at the same time and the setup and tweaking of all of this is very easy. It has 2.4G and 5.0 G as well. There is even an Andoid and Apple App that can be used to access the Router. My RAZR phone and Thunderbolt are faster in this wireless network than in ANY I have ever used. Printer hooked up with zero problem as did my Wireless Sony TV and Sony Bluray. Since it built to the new AC standard it will last for years and is backwards compatible. The signal stregnth is Exceptional. Wether you are a novice or an expert this asset should be considered in your Network. Oh, and it looks great too.

I had to try this out, upgrading from the last netgear N900 WNDR4500 to this R6300. Did the hype live up to the test? YES !!!!!!! Right away I noticed speed so amazing vs the N900 that I could not believe it. Almost instantaneous page loading. As to the hype of better range, I have not tested that but so far it shows no less range than my N900 4500, which was very good in a big house. The routers wifi has a default password (listed on the R6300 base sticker). But the access password for logging into the router itself via nergear genie is different from the wifi password. That held me up in the initial setup. I should have read the setup pamphlet closer. So that was my fault. Other than the password mixup, the install went incredibility smooth. THIS guy is worth upgrading for, regardless of the current router you use. It's like my ISP is suddenly on steroids. The term FAST doesn't do this router justice. And it looks cool. The black 2001 monolith, except more square than tall. The only other thing netgear may have added would be a digital photo frame intergraded into the front. Now THAT would be way cool. Router/digital photo frame all in one. Netgear???

The product's price and features (range and speed) were double from my previous router. So far the connection drops for no reason, multiple times per day and the range is less than four year-old router that I previously had. I would not recommend this product (especially for the price) to anyone and I will be looking to make a change!

I had to return the item as I could not log into the router. I tried, really I did. I did not call tech support as it was the weekend and I needed to get up and running but after 2 hours of trying to connect to the wireless network from the Ipad's, cell phones and XBox 360 I just stopped and went and returned it. Your experience maybe different, but frustrated is an understatement.

Rumor has it, this fall Netgear will be releasing the WNDR4500 Premiere router with some added features for around $130. I am a previous WNDR4500 owner and upgraded to the R6300. The range of this router is what you are paying for. G Band will always go further than 5 ghz N Band. This router is larger in size compared to other routers on the market, but contains 6 internal antennaes. 2 USB ports are ok for adding a printer and a External Hard Drive. Routers won't have the power to support USB 3.0 anytime soon or in the near future. There are little to no AC standard peripherals out to the consumer to purchase, this is what Netgear means by 3x faster than last generation of routers. They added the Guest network feature through a Firmware update. Netgear has one of the better Forums for technical help if anything every goes wrong, don't bother calling Singapore. Would recommend for only the people that have money to burn and want the greatest range out of a router. The Network Genie Software is simple enough for any novice to setup the router and get going, yet advanced enough that even I will never use all of it's features.

I bought this router hoping for a improvement from my standard U-Verse router. Setup was not to difficult. However, range of this router is terrible. Places where I used to get wifi signal either received a very slow connection or none at all. I ended up buying an Airport Extreme which worked flawlessly.

I debated whether to go with another gateway router to eliminate potential problems with a separate DSL modem, although, I wanted the speed & performance of 802.11ac. When the old 2WIRE finally died, I decided to go with the R6300 and the Motorola 3360 DSL modem from AT&T. Both set up easily and quickly. The R6300 was easy to set up connect to all my wireless devices, laptops, cell phones, and iPad. The network Genie is a great tool and interface that makes everything easy and simple. Great range in upstairs areas and back yard. Two draw backs to date, the 5G band intermittently drops, and the signal strength is slightly less than the 2.5 G. Also, i have an issue connecting my Ethernet printer, still working this, although, a firmware fix may be required. Overall, please with the ease of setup and speed on internet connection.

I wanted to replace my current Netgear wireless-n router because we now have more wireless devices in the home and sometimes had slow connectivity issues. After trying 2 other wireless-ac routers based on their reviews, I ended up coming back to Netgear. Installation was very simple. I've had no problems with multiple devices streaming HD videos and no connectivity issues. I've also noticed that my download and upload speeds have increased as well as the coverage throughout my home. The router comes preset with it's own network name and password that is unique only to that router, much like a serial number. I especially like the Easyshare feature, as I have a 1TB external hard drive that I can share across my network. A little pricey, but most of the wireless-ac routers are. No complaints so far.

I'm not much of a Netgear fan, but I was in need of a new router and this one was recommended by a few friends so I gave it a shot. I have no complaints, it works well and was simple to setup. No noticeable difference in speed, but it is not dropping the signal like my 3 year old router. I'm not a fan of the looks of this router with its cheesy lit up "NETGEAR" logo on the front, but I just hide it behind the monitor on the desk and don't have to look at it. As long as it works I'm happy. It does, and I am.

When I switched from DSL to cable I replaced my trusty old Belkin router with a high-end Belkin. It tested at about 35mbps download using charter.com. It was a big disappointment as it kept disconnecting from the modem and would not reconnect. It seems that all the new range of Belkins have this problem, regardless of model. I returned it for a high-end Cisco router which seemed reliable but was slow and had a very limited range. It tested at less than 20mbps download using the same cable modem as I tested the Belkin on. I didn't like the cloud interface either. That went back too. I bought the Netgear R6300. I usually don't like setup wizards preferring to do the configuration myself, but I connected it up, plugged it, in turned it on and it configured itself automatically! It is super-fast with a tremendous range, and is very reliable. It tested at around 50mbps download, so this is the fastest, most reliable router with the greatest range. It has very limited features though. Whats there not to like - except the price? I guess you do get what you pay for, but if it provides years of reliable service, its worth it.

I had an older Netgear router and was experiencing some range and buffering issues on a new iPad. After reading about this router, I pre-ordered it and patiently waited for it . It was well worth the wait. The installation was the easiest and quickest I had ever performed (less than ten minutes). Not only do I get a stronger signal but now I can watch Netflix out on my back deck with no buffering issues. One one computer I now get four bars where on the previous router I only had two bars. All in all, despite the price and ease of set up, it was well worth it.
