Excellent Range and throughput
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing was easy to set up. The netgear genie is a helpful tool. In the past, I have always set these things up manually and it was not necessary this time. Pay attention to the directions on the order in which you connect and power on the devices.

Best router so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great router for the new ones out now. It was hard to get setup correctly but has been flawless since. It doesn't seem any faster to me even though it claims to be. Range is great and looks nice sitting out on furniture.

The performance compared to pervious products.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used Netgear routers in the past, but they always dropped the signal, or slowed down when watching a video or using YouTube. Very frustrating, ESP. When using an iPad. But now with this router, problem solved! The price was iffy, but while using this router, I can see where paying the price was worth it compared to its completion. Netgear, you hit a home run with this router. Great job!

5+ interface easy & comprehensive, intelligent !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I had 801.11g signal conflicts, with no relief after trying all of the 11-channels, my old unit would not consistently stay up. The Netgear r6300 is simply perfect ... it works very fine with the Samsung Smart TV, with the WiFi Radio, and laptops. The 801.11ax (5.8 & 2.4 bands) work extremely well. It's a bit more $$, but the technology is right at the top ... the interface is extremely well thought out, easy to use, and it seems to be quite smart (intelligent) about figuring things out itself !!

Never think about it. Perfect!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this for my house. I have it connected to a Seagate GoFlex Home to stream all of my movies to all of my devices in my home. I have it positioned in the first room of the house because it is a my office. I can stand 20-feet out my backdoor and still have a good connection. I set it up and have not had to touch it once. It has been functioning for about 5 months without ever being noticed. My work place had a set up with a wifi range extender that kept having to be reset. Instead we replaced the router with one of these. It has an even farther range than the original router + wifi extender set up. Once again no hiccups from it so far.

Parental Controls a Gross Misrepresentation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was easy to set up and connect new devices. I immediately notice an increase in speed on my computer, yet streaming shows on the TV still gets dropped regularly or requires loading time. I expected better for streaming. My concern is with the parental controls. Calling them parental controls is really a gross misrepresentation of what this feature does. It's better described as netwrk security. The instructions are designed for a tech, not a computer-literate parent. You need to apply restrictions that apply to every device connected to the router and then download software on every device that can be permitted to bypass the restrictions. If you have a game console or streaming device like a Roku, you cannot bypass the restrictions. So I want to be able to apply a parental control to my son's Xbox and iPhone. It's not possible without applying though same restrictions to every device in our house. That is not a parental control and it's completely useless. Hoping I can return and buy another brand that easily applies restrictions to individual devices. This is has been a huge waste of time and money. This product should not claim to have parental controls.

Takes about 10 mins to setup and your streaming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connectivity is great and easy to setup. Most items can be set on 1 touch setup. The usb port is convenient for storing over a network.

THIS IS BEST ROUTER CURRENTLY ON THE MARKET
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is ridiculously fast. The dual band wifi actually out performs my wired connection on my old "N" router. At first it was running at the same speeds as the old router, so I went and upgrade my connection hardware. IMPORTANT: YOU HAVE TO HAVE HIGH SPEED ETHERNET CARDS AND HIGH SPEED WIFI ANTENNAS TO UNLEASH THE SPEED IN THIS BEAST! XBOX USERS: Buy the external dual band add-on antenna. The internal 360S antenna is not a high speed unit. The external antenna is a high speed antenna.

Superfast Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using the product for more than 6 months now and can convincingly say its one of the best routers I have every used. The set up was a breeze and the signal strength is excellent for long ranges. Netgear even provides a nifty app from the app store to monitor the router. A little pricey but worth it.

Horrible Router and too expensive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router gets a lot of drop signals. Because of this router, I've replace my modem and have had comcast install a complete new line and re-did my internet connection and I'm am still getting drop signals. My 4 year old router still works better then this 3 month old router r6300. stay away from it. If your serious about buying this router, i'll sell you mine!! I do not recommend this router. I'm giving it a 2 star because of the strength of the signal. Other than that, the performance is STUPID WEAK. NO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Excellent router until it stops working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router to replace an aging D-Link (Most reliable router I've ever had). When I picked it up, I also procured the A6200-100NAS Wireless AC dongle for my desktop. Immediately upon setting up this beast of a router, I was blown away. It was as though my connection speed had doubled; I stopped dropping wireless signal, and everything felt more responsive. I was able to get my necessary port-forwarding set up without an issue for all of my various external services I point to my network. As well, assigning static IPs was extremely simple. Fast-forward two months when all of a sudden my screaming connection came to an abrupt halt. After much frustration, I've come to find that it appears the router is rebooting randomly and on its own at random intervals that are in no way Now I am off to brave the Netgear support line as I'm about two weeks outside my premier silver return window.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Linksys 4200 (terrible coverage), Belkin N1 (very good device), Netgear N900 (fried its brains, replaced under warranty, no issues), and added the R6300. The R6300 has excellent coverage, great configuration options such as easily configured Port Forwarding, etc. Added to the R6300 are a couple of WNT802v2 Access Points which help in the areas where the R6300 signal falls to 'fair'.

Not ready for Primetime
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been running a NetGear WNDR4500 N900 router for many years now in a 5,000 square foot home. Was reliable and provided solid speed in 90% of home. I needed better wireless coverage in that other 10% and didn't have much luck with an extender. Too cumbersome when moving around house. Decided to upgrade to this new router as it's supposed to provide a bit better range. Swapping in new for old and running tests, the results were startling. While I had a little better range, the speed was not great. What was real surprising is that in mainstream area's of the home, the speed on both the 2.4 & 5 bands was considerably worse than the previous model. While I got a bit better speed with the new one when close to the router. I was getting 2x to 5x worse speed at distances and locations that should have been a cake walk. Rather than switch back I tried the ASUS rt-n66r which I saw a lot of positive reviews on, $50 cheaper but I thought what the heck. As a long term NetGear user I was shocked when the ASUS not only covered the rest of my home, at the farthest distance it was 5x faster than the NetGear. I also had great performance in all other locations, speed was similar to NetGear up close but up to 2x faster in other locations of the home and rising to 5x faster at farthest locations. If you have a home less than 4,000 sq feet, the NetGear WNDR4500 is a solid router and gives you AirPrint on older printers, but if you have a larger home, pick the ASUS. Stay away from the newer AC routers right now, they are not ready and it's definitely not an upgrade.

Best Wi-Fi ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical at first because I owned a smaller version of Netgear and was using it at the time of this purchase. I purchsed this one on a hope that it would not run as slow as the previous and I have not been disappointed!!!!!!
