After having an Apple Airport Extreme for 5 years, it died and we needed to replace it. This Netgear router is great and supports many devices in our household. I would not recommend it for someone that is using, say, 2 computers, but in our house (with 2 desktops, 2 laptops, 1 xbox, 2 smartphones, and a googleTV) it handles the large network load perfectly. We are not using any network repeaters. Setup was more or less easy for someone with a tech background, but, again, not really for someone who doesn't know what they're doing. There are quite a few advanced features that I don't even use, but I could see being great on an even larger network, or one with smaller children. There are options to restrict access to certain MAC addresses after a certain time at night, as well as bandwidth limits on individual computers. I could see this being perfect if you have children with computers or phones, but I personally have no use for it. I did not see any increase in our wired connections over our 5 year old router, but I suppose that is to be expected. Speed increases were seen on wireless, but we currently do not have any wireless ac devices, so I cannot attest to its claimed max speeds. Overall, I would recommend this router to someone who has multiple devices or someone who needs extra options.

I was renting a combined router/modem from Cox (don't recall brand name off top of my head). Lots of flakiness when trying to setup a home network. So a friend suggested separate modem and router, as he claimed the hardware in the combined unit is usually of lower quality and less cpu power. So I bought this router combined with a separate modem, and it worked seamlessly (all of my network flakiness went away).

Was easy enough to set up once realized my computers modem was too old to notice the dual band device wirelessly (it would not see the 5.0 only the 2.4). But for setting up for families ipad, phones etc to be on the net was a breeze. Unit sits like a large 8x12 picture frame would ones deskso did not fit as compact as unit it was replacing.

I needed a new router as mine was outdated and dropping my signal frequently. I am not a big techie, so I needed something that was good quality and easy to use. The sales clerk helped me choose this one and explained how it would be easy to use and able to process great speed. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I received.

This was installed as a replacement network switch in a 12,000 sq. ft. assembly hall. It booted up and became the backbone of the network flawlessly. What we found amazing was, we had a WyFy radio and antenna installed in the building. That equipment has now become redundant. The wireless component of the Netgear Wireless AC transmits as strong a signal as our dedicated radio. This is an awesome value. It's normally considered a residential gateway but we pressed it into commercial service. It performs flawlessly!

It's extended my range and coverage. A big help when using my iPhone and iPad outside. I would recommend this product.

We upgraded from an older slower model. The new Netgear works great. Our master bedroom is at the far end of the house, and on the 2nd floor, we now have no problems connecting to the net. The speed of this device is also very fast compared to our old unit. We love the range and speed. More expensive but worth the cost.

Great performance and relatively good price. Recommended for businesses or homes that require a lot of wireless data throughout.

This is a great router I like the format of the router itself very sleek. It was easy to install and provides excellent speed.

Easy to hook up even for the neophyte that say it can't, yes you can really easy works most excellent fast & wayyyyy better.

I knew that this router was large when we purchased it, so I don't really knock it for that. I just wanted to make sure people knew that it is larger than most others. On the plus side, everything connected to the router very quickly. I'm always nervous setting up new routers, but this one was a breeze. It even has a button that allows you two minutes to connect with any of your wi-fi devices quickly and easily, but then shuts off the feature to shut down unwanted access. The only downside that I'm seeing is the range. I bought this one specifically because I wanted a router with a strong range and this is supposed to be their best. I still find spots even in our home where I just get annoyed and turn it off because the signal isn't strong. It's not a huge house, just a 3,000 sq ft ranch, so you would think this should easily provide a strong signal in our house and our yard. I'm a little disappointed with that. A lot, actually. Other than that, seems like a simple, easy to use router that is already set up for 5G so you won't have to replace it when that technology becomes more prevalent.

Was looking for a wireless router with the most range. This really has great range. Get max signal in my backyard...wow!! Right now I get over 20Mbps using my pc connected wireless. I got 16Mbps with my smartphone. Had trouble losing connection with my wireless printer. Just reset printer and it has been working fine for the past week or so.

The instructions were very easy to understand and complete install. Room for many electronics including WIFI and Air.

Easy setup. Works great. The flat design is great for placement on a top shelf.

This wifi is operating with no issues in my 3250 sq.ft., five bedroom, two story home. It is connected to a Comcast modem. Everyone in the house are using their Kindle Fire with no problem. Money well spent. Glad I did my homework on what kind of device to invest in.

Offers 2 connection rates great for homes that stream n download multiple things like Netflix n gaming consoles etc

We had the $40 Netgear router previously, and the performance was mediocre. Since we purchased this router, the speed is noticeably faster. Also, we have used up to three or four devices at one time and the performance was still very good. Sure, it's more money, but I have to say the value is there.

Easy setup, backward compatible to my older computer, 2.5 and 5 ghz dual range for future upgrades.Boots quickly.
