Don't waste your time. Buy the Linksys WUSB6300 sold in the same section of this adapter, or anything with a USB 3.0 port on it. Netgear *does* in fact have some good USB wifi adapters! But this just... isn't one of them. Not at all. 1200mb/s controller, on a USB 2.0 connector, with an antenna that hardly receives enough power to be even halfway-serviceable. Absolutely "brilliant" design choice. I was 6 feet away from a Wifi5 router with gigabit internet and saw a max of, quite literally, 120mb/s on fast.com. That's not even the cap for USB 2.0 HS. This was with both the Microsoft WDDM driver, and the latest from Netgear themselves, and selective USB suspend off, alongside Wifi set to Maximum Performance. Tragic. Got the Linksys one, was sitting pretty happily at 870mb/s with pretty good latency. Do not buy this if you require stable, consistent internet.

Works ok with my ASUS router. Sometimes will not automatically connect to my network when the laptop starts up and I have to manually tell it to connect despite the option for auto-connecting being enabled. AC connection speeds are decent. In hindsight, for less money I could have just ordered a new mini PCI-e network adapter card for the laptop to replace the failing Realtek OEM card instead of going with this tiny USB card. I would consider buying one of these again for the right application, but not for my particular application.

My internal router burned up, the connector melted. My problem it was an internal fiber optic. This external router worked just as good as my internal one did.

First bought this for an outdated computer, then bought it for a 'fire'. Sometimes the loading can be slow, but that is better than nothing at all or purchasing new equipment.

I get 1.1Gpbs at modem, 350/400 Mbps MOAC to desktop. Installed netgear driver by default connected to 2.4 signal, had to change channel names to see 5.0, 6.0 never appears as this device doesn't support ax. I searched "wifi 6" and this came up as option, shame on me for not looking closer, but I should at least be getting 800Mpbs which would have been fine, but I only get 139.7 on last test after making change to 5Ghz channel, this will never reach 500+. I have a good signal at 3 bars.
