Easy setup, worked immediately and good user interface. My main router is upstairs in the farthest bedroom. I placed this extender downstairs in the hallway. Now my Rokus can pick up signal and no more buffering while watching the NBA Playoffs! Great buy!

Good Product, Support App Isn’t So Great

For signal strength and streaming speed, this product is great! What’s not so great is the functionality of the support app, “Nighthawk.” The type-in boxes for logging into the Nighthawk app are flawed and don’t display what you’re typing, that’s if you can even get your keypad to activate when you click within the login boxes. Phone support for this product is of third-world quality, with heavy language accents and poor phone connections.

Used it to boost WiFi signal from the living room to the bedroom tv. Works like a charm! All along we were blaming the problems we were having on the tv. Achieved nirvana after adding a Cat 5 cable directly from the device to the tv.

It extended the 2G to my Wyze lights in front of the house. This is the reason I bought the extender, it does a nice job. Really strong signal 2G and 5G upstairs, garage and front of the house. I went through all the reviews before I purchased the product, like you all should do. Good product.

Does a good job in extending internet to our basement, where my office is. There have been 2 times that I had to unplug it from the wall and plug back in, but that's rare and overall very pleased.

Location location location!!! For optimal effect which means no red light on the display, the location of this device is critical. The closer to the WiFi the better.

I purchased the NETGEAR Model: EAX15-100NAS on June 2022. It was working perfect with the Help Support Chat Team, they were awesome helping me setting it up @ my house.
5 months late my AT&T router went Bad and needs to be replaced. AT&T sent me a new MOTOROLA ROUTER and the NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK Extender is no longer compatible.
NETGEAR Chat Support is only good for 60 days. After it expires, good luck trying to get help support. Now! that I'm having issues with the device I'm being GHOSTed with NO response from NETGEAR.
My NIGHTHAWK EXTENDER is still under Warranty until June 2023 but, useless to me if I can't use it ($140 down the drain).

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

The Good: This Dual band WIFI mesh extender device can broadcast the same SSIDs that your router uses for both the 2,4GHZ and 5GHZ bands using the same passwords. This makes it more transparent for your devices when roaming through the house. You also don't need to setup another network SSID on each of your devices. It also has good range to reach dead spots in your home. It's easy to setup with the Nethawk smartphone app or using your PC. That's where the good ends. If it works it works but if it doesn't good luck.
The Bad: WPS never worked for the initial setup. No error message or logs. I wanted to extend both the bands to reach devices in the far reaches of my house. It is supposed to establish an uplink to your router for both bands and broadcast both bands to your devices. The 5GHZ uplink would establish with Great signal strength then the Netgear end would disconnect. Devices would connect to both the Netgear broadcast SSIDs So all your traffic would only connect through the 2.4GHZ uplink to your router. Again No Logs, No Error Messages, No trouble shooting help. I reset the devices multiple times and ran setup with the same results. I returned the unit figuring I had a bad device. Nope, the new unit did the same thing, so it looks like a bad engineering job and testing certification by Netgear.
The Ugly: Poor documentation online, no trouble shooting on my issue. I opened several trouble tickets with Netgear and their responses left me thinking that they don't even read your trouble description. Worthless help.
I reconfigured the device using their Fastlane technology where it only broadcasts one SSID, 2.4 or 5 and uses the opposite band 5 or 2.4 GHZ band as the uplink. This works in both configurations.
But it defeats the purpose of why I purchased the device to extend both bands to weak spots in my home. So, My take on this is that Netgear really wants to sell you two devices to extend both bands. Very Ugly.

Yes, WiFi extenders are actually worse for your Wi-Fi performance in many ways. But in my case, with multiple walls/hallways between the router and my room, this is a great way to get a better signal (MOST of the time). The setup was very intuitive, the app is great, and the Ethernet port is very convenient especially for those whose computers don’t have WiFi cards or if their WiFi cards are just on the fritz. The price is in a sweet spot IMO for the features you get. There are pricier extenders out there with more features, sure, but at the end of the day it’s a WiFi extender. This one does what you need it to do and does it well.
I only have one gripe, which is that the unit is so heavy it can loosen up the outlet you plug it into. Just something to keep in mind.

My NETGEAR Nighthawk router already covers 2,500 sq. ft which is very good inside the house and is set up in a closet near the front door. Initially, I was getting a good signal at the other end of my backyard as well where I installed a security camera. However, after a recent room addition that added several new walls, the signal weakened significantly for the camera. I tried several extenders, but none worked—until I tried this NETGEAR one! Wow, 10 stars! All five signal bars are full, and the camera is working again. I placed the extender in my detached garage, which is between my house and the security camera. My land is about 10,000 sq. ft. and now I have a strong signal in all four corners.

I had no experience with extenders after reading reviews I purchased this one. I was amazed in how easy it was to setup equally amazed at how well it works. I tried relocating the router and it helped but when I put this baby in the difference was amazing. I thank previous reviewers it was you that helped me decide. Super easy setup even for me. One thing I figured out is when you have a dead zone the best router on the market most likely will not give you the internet you are looking for. It needs the help of an extender, this is a very good one. We have a Tri level house router now on top floor. Extender is on middle floor with the same test results in all three floors and all internet issues have been resolved with this unit. Yes I like it a lot it’s pretty amazing.
