    Ok, but needs updating

I have used a number of these Arlo Adjustable Mounts in the past three years. They were designed pretty well for the original Arlo, but they fall short now that the product line has expanded and matured. The Pro and Pro 2 cameras have rather cramped real estate on the back of the cameras. The power input, 1/4” hole and magnetic back are very tightly packed. It is impossible to use the plastic lock nut that comes with the camera mount when a power cord is inserted into the camera. I discovered this when using the solar panel accessory. Without that nut, it is hard to lock the camera into the proper orientation. I have to play with the ball mount and try to get it all to line up when the camera is screwed tightly onto the 1/4” threads. And it is very difficult to plug in a power cord after the camera is mounted, so that adds yet another level of pain to the attachment process. I highly recommend Netgear take a completely fresh look at the design of a camera mount that meets the needs of the entire family of Arlo wireless cameras and accessories. For just a camera, it’s ok. Once you add a power cord, it is pretty lame. I recommend this for folks who don’t plan to use the solar panel or power adapter while it is mounted.

The Arlo wifi camera's magnetic mounts are great idea, but if someone is at all familiar with the system all they have to do is reach up and grab the camera. Then, they've stolen a couple hundred dollars camera from you, without even getting into your property. This mount is very high end for it's price point! It is sturdy, easy to install, and the hardware is included. The Arlo just screws onto the mount, and it is totally adjustable. We were able to get it to the perfect angle. We installed it 15-20 feet up in one of our trees. We did purchase a white one, but a bit of Krylon paint can camo it perfectly. The Arlo also has skin covers to camo the camera, if you don't want to advertise it. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this mount, and highly recommend it!

You might be wondering how someone could mark down stars for a camera mount? Well, sure this does get the job done and lets you mount your arlo securely outside but the design of the mount makes you re-adjust the position of your camera each time you change the battery. I had the Arlo Pro(before I returned it) in a city and had the sensitivity turned down low. But I still had to recharge the battery every 4 or 5 days. When I wanted to recharge the batteries, had to take the whole camera off the mount.(yes I know there is going to be an external charger soon) When I put the camera back in place, the focus was a little bit off each time. The whole process became too much of a burden. I ended up just getting a vandal proof dome Power over Ethernet camera. No more batteries. No more missed captures. No more re-adjusting the mount.

The mounts are more secure in that they can’t be pulled off like the magnetic mount that comes with the cameras system! The magnets are great and hold very well weather wise, but the screw on mount can’t b removed without unscrewing the cameras without a ladder and a manual undoing! It’s a bit harder than the magnet since they have to be taken down for charging but it’s worth it for my family and my peace of mind to have the security! There are also solar panels that can eliminate the every three week hassle of taking down and resetting the cameras for charging! The are made just for each individual camera which we will be purchasing soon!

The mount seems very sturdy and stable and isn’t very big and noticeable. I have 3 of them positioned outside and they held up without causing any camera movement through high wind alert periods. My only complaint would be the camera mount stud and bolt which I wish would have a better and more secure setup then just a nylon nut holding the camera in place but like I said it did hold up in high wind situations but could be a problem down the road not to mention it could be very easily and quickly be removed if someone wanted to steal it especially if it’s not positioned high enough and out of reach.

When I initially bought the mount I assumed it was completely built to handle outdoor weather. The mount that came with the Arlo Pro Kit had a stainless steel mounting screw and was appropriate for an outdoor application this individual mount did not have a stainless steel mounting screw so I had to use silicone grease on the threads to ensure that it would not rust and allow me to remove the camera when needed. The mounting screws that also came with the mount were not stainless so I also bought stainless steel screws to attach the mount to the outside of my house. The only other thing that would prevent this unit from being perfect is that it should be telescoping to allow different lengths to achieve the best camera position as possible.

My wife and I installed a complete Arlo Pro security camera system and enjoy the security it gives us! I wanted a good sturdy mount for under my eves and actually tried an off brand mount first. What a mistake!! I drove to my nearest Best Buy and bought the Netgear version and boy what a difference! Trust me, there is a reason Netgear charges a bit more for these mounts! The steel in these mounts is well made and allows easy adjustment for your various camera angles. The 1/4x20 stud easily threads into the mounting hole and the stop nut actually is small enough to allow you to use your skins with this mount, unlike brand X. I highly recommend using these mounts for your exterior mounting areas. You will not regret spending the little extra money!!

I want to emphasize that the mounts are plastic, not metal. Being plastic, they are not as durable in outside temperatures as metal and as such are subject to temperature variations that leave them subject to detractions from sunlight and temperature variations. Secondly there is no way to securely attach the camera to the mounts. The cameras can be simply be unscrewed from the mounts making the camera easy to steal. For an application such as security cameras they are woefully inadequate. These mounts need to be metal and there needs to be a way to securely mount the cameras to the mounts so they cannot be disconnected or stolen. These mounts are definitely not ready for prime time!

Mount is fine. I had to review the camera here, because it was a gift and I wanted to share my experience. Netgear has known defective cameras on the market. I was one of the lucky customers that received a camera that locked into infrared 3 days after use. Netgear admitted it was a defective unit and then wanted ME to pay for shipping to them. I'd say that's pretty poor service. Shouldn't you recall known defects? Why are you making the customer pay for shipping for already expensive product. I won't buy another one. Think I'll go with another brand and simply register this piece of junk.

I purchased a Arlo system and used this outdoor mount. At this time, the arlo mount has stripped and the mount is stuck on the arlo camera. It will not let me open the battery compartment because the mount is in the way and can not be removed. I called customer support numerous times. Started a case file number, no resolution or response. BEWARE, CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS IN JAMAICA AND IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND THE PEOPLE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE ARLO PRODUCTS DUE TO NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT. There is no way to contact customer relations in the United States, so problems can NOT BE RESOLVED. Best Buy could not help me because the product was purchased over a year ago. IT IS A DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT!!!

    Cameras mis-align when re-installed

The unit holds the camera securely, but the mount is a little frustrating. The screw connection does not fully engage or disengage causing you to turn the camera body to fully tighten or loosen the camera. This would be ok if it was a permanent mount, but since the cameras need to be taken down to charge the batteries, this defect causes the cameras to mis-align every time they are re-installed. It would be much nicer if the mount allowed you to put the camera back to the exact position it was previously.

The Arlo camera kit I purchase had two cameras, but only one outdoor mount, and I wanted both of these cameras to be outside. Hence purchasing an additional Arlo Camera Mount. Comes with all the necessary hardware to mount to the outside of the house. Sturdy, durable and waterproof, this is going to stand the test of time, as long as it doesn't rust! Only complaint would be that they are only available in white, so on a brick house, they stand out like a sore thumb. Sure, you can spray paint them the color you want them, but it wouldn't be bad to offer other colors from the get go.

This mount was a little finicky at first, but after working with if for a few minutes I was able to angle my camera just the way I wanted it to be and keep it securely fastened out of reach of people who may want to tamper with it. The mount is strong and combined with the outdoor power cable and wind protector with an extension my Arlo 2 camera is powered and protected, which keeps my house monitored and protected. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to mount their Arlo 2 camera outdoors.

Bought this since I wanted two camera's outdoors and the Arlo package only includes one of these. Installation is easy, you get the screws and drywall anchors if needed. Problem is adjustment and fit. For fit, where you screw the camera to the mount, the surfaces don't match! They are not 'flat to flat' but curved (camera) to flat (mount) so you cannot tell if you get a good tight fit. The adjustment part is also a bit difficult. When you tighten the lock ring to keep the camera at the angle and rotation you want it at, it is very hard to hold the camera there while you do so. To get it properly tight, you end up moving the camera and have to start all over.

I have four Arlo Pro 2 cameras mounted with these Netgear mounts on the outside of my house. These are excellent for securing the cameras in their locations . The cameras and mounts have been through rain, sleet, snow and bright sun sheltered only by the eaves where the mounts attached. I am very happy with how the mount attaches securely to the cameras. I recommend the Netgear indoor/outdoor mounts.

I would give it more stars if it didn’t felt more sturdy. The base feels very secure once you screw it in place. But the arm that swivels and screw-in attachment point feels like it’s going to break it over tighten it. Feelings maybe due to the “plastic” parts. But, after 7 battery changes and multiple adjustments, it’s still in one piece. Another plus is that this along with the camera has weathered pretty strong winds and weather.

These allow you to install the cameras outside with more security than the magnet mounts. They have decent range of motion once mounted so you can adjust to most viewing angles. Easy install. However, unless you can mount them in a place unaccessible or difficult to reach, a person could simply unscrew the camera from the mount and take the camera. It would be good to create a locking mechanism that can't be accessed unless the entire mount was removed from the wall or mounting point. I used some locktite to help slow down any brazen people should they try to remove them.

I purchased an extra adjustable mount to use outside and I think this is the best way to secure your camera so someone doesn't try to knock it down with a stick or something else. This is a very secure and strong mount that has a screw that goes into the back of the Arlo Pro. It should last for years and appears to be very good quality. The design is excellent and allows for an easy adjustment once you have it mounted and the camera screwed onto the mount.

Purchased this mount to install a Arlo Pro camera high up on my wall. I needed the camera to be a few inches from the wall due to an obstacle so this mount was the perfect solution. The only issue with the mount is that it is very difficult to attach a camera and use the USB charge cable at the same time. I wanted to have the camera continuously plugged in (so I wouldn't have to keep charging the battery). The screw mount and plug are too close together. I has to remove the white lock screw from the mount to make it work. Netgear needs to consider all use cases when developing these solutions.

If you need to mount your cameras to view steeper angles than what the magnetic mounts will provide, this mount is highly adjustable and provides a more secure (screw) attachment. With this mount, you can point your camera 90 degrees directly down to the ground while the magnetic ones seem to view at about a 45 degree angle. My only complaint is that these aren’t cheap, and you have to purchase them separately from the actual camera kit.
