Used this device to try and add wireless functionality to my server. Dropped so often that running a wire across the room was better. Signal dropped multiple times a day and with a headless server, plugging in a monitor, etc. was a huge hassle so I just stuffed it in my box'o'computer parts for sometime when I might need it or find someone that can use it.

I have a home network. I'm trying to get one desktop computer to talk with the other desktop computer AND have internet. I even purchased a 50 foot ethernet cord to bring in the internet but that didn't work either. All of my techie friends were too busy to give me enough time to work it out. Still don't have internet on the one so it's left to the side until I can figure it out.

I wanted another brand but the store didn't have it. Took it home and it wouldn't work. Got Netgear support on the phone and they worked on it remotely for two hours before giving up. I took it back and ordered one online that was half the price. Plugged it in and it connected immediately. I've never had a Netgear product that worked well.

Upon installation of the software on my Sony RB series desktop, which was upgraded to Windows 8, the process came to a halt when it tried to detect the hardware. After several attempts at installation, I gave up and returned the product to the store for a refund.

I ended up returning this item. When it connected, the performance was lousy. Most of the time it refused to work unless I removed it and plugged it in again. I don't know if this was just a bad unit, but it was a waste of time and effort.

I purchased an Ooma system and was told this would be sufficient since Best Buy did not carry the Ooma wireless adapter. After much work, I contacted Ooma and was told it had to be their wireless adapter to work with their system.
