This adapter did everything I needed it to and only for 20 bucks. It is compatible with Windows 8.1 which is the main reason I chose it, because my other usb adapter would not work on my newly built computer. The range is outstanding as I am over 50 feet and 3 rooms away from my router and I always have a great signal. I keep mine tucked away behind my monitor on the docking station which is angled which prevents it from easily tipping over. I would recommend this product.

I have a relative older model computer. My modem went out and I purchased a modem with a wireless router to have wi fi access. I did not realized my computer did not have the updated plugs to connect my modem. A wireless USB stick was recommended. Which lead to this purchase. I did not have to modify any of my hardware but I hate I do not always connect.

We live in a remote area and just recently, with the acquisition of a hotspot, were able to upgrade from very slow dial-up to a 3G internet connection. We purchased a new laptop at the time and our old PC did not have a way to connect wirelessly. For minimal cost, this Netgear adapter works great in allowing us to use our old PC, located in the basement, to connect to the hotspot upstairs.

It works good when you just need it for minimal task such as search the web etc.
