    This was a great purchase for my media PC downstairs from my router. I had absolutely no problems using this adapter with Windows 8. My only issue is that after updating to Windows 8.1, the adapter will no longer function in the 5GHz band. I'm sure an update will be coming from Netgear, but if you're running Win 8.1, you may wish to select another adapter if you need 5GHz.

    The wifi on my laptop stopped working, but I can't send my laptop in. I need it with me. So I bought a wifi booster awhile ago and it worked pretty good. I dropped it and it broke, so I had to get a new one. This one gets a way better range because of the little stand that comes with it. If I'm close enough to the wifi box, I don't use the stand. Either way, I love this one.

    The wireless adapter on my computer stopped working. I did not want to buy another computer as the rest of the computer was just fine. Went to Best Buy and asked regarding an alternative fix. The helpful representative brought me to this product. Plugs into the USB port...easy installation and I am online again. Highly recommend!
