Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the N900 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter's ease of use, impressive performance, and reliable connection. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, even without an external antenna. While some users noted the adapter's size and occasional compatibility issues, the positive feedback on ease of installation and performance outweighs these concerns. The adapter is also praised for its reasonable price.

this is the 2nd netgear Dongle that will not pull a DHCP address. I have other devices with no problem. I put in a Dlink and it came right up. Due to th e distance to the BB store I did not return the last one and chalked it up to experience.

I bought this adapter for a desktop that was replaced by a newer model. Because we wanted to keep the older desktop active, it was moved to the basement (one floor below, and about 20 feet over from where the router is located). Two other computers are hard-wired to the router, but I wanted to avoid running another line. The wireless connection is inconsistent with this adapter, and no other wireless signals are present to interfere. Our laptop functions perfect in the same area, which points the problem to the adapter. However, it does work wonderful when located about 8 feet away in the same room as the router....as it should.

It did not maintain WiFi connection for my laptop. I got it as a trial per Geek squad recommendation as my wireless card does not work anymore.

Frustrating product and Netgear custormer service

I recently upgraded my internet speed to 75 mbps, however my computer was not set up for that so I was pointed in this direction. First off, set up was a bear as it does not automatically set up with Windows 8. After finally finding the right patch, I got the software loaded, though I still believe some of the features were missing. I did at one point receive speeds near 70 but it was for a brief time and when I shut my computer down and then tried again later, the best I could do was 50. I tried online support and that was horribly frustrating as the responses on their end could take up to 5 minutes, even for yes and no answers. Finally I asked for a phone number to handle things more quickly. I called and explained my problem and obviously he wasn't listening because after 45 minutes of increasing tension on the phone, he finally said that I had the wrong product for my needs and I needed a range extender instead, even though I was sitting directly in front of the router and still was not able to get anywhere near the speeds promised. Frustrating prodoct, frustrating Netgear customer service.

This item is good of you plan in browsing the web. If you plan on gaming, you should get the Netgear wireless adapter that you plug into the wall

It did work for what I needed to use it for, but seemed to stick out too far on laptop. Kept bumping it out of connection. I would not buy another one.

We wanted to be able to enable the internet on our internet cable television and needed something to facilitate. Unfortunately, this product does not work with our samsung television. Worst thing is that you have to register the product before anyone at netgear will even talk to you, so it took us quite a while to learn that this product was not compatible with our tv.

Had this wifi adapter for less than a month before it decided to quit seeing available networks. About a day after it quit seeing the networks it died completely (none of the indicator LEDs light up nor does my PC recognize it as being connected). Returning this to the store shortly and I hope to get something more reliable.
