I took a little while before posting the review. I wanted to get some time with the device before writing about it. So far so good, Xfinity accepted the modem on my account and I was able to activate it easily and totally online. No long hold times are needed to contact a rep. I have this modem connected to my Eeero Mesh network and the coverage and speeds around the house are good. I recommend this device, although it is a little expensive, I hope to break even before they change the protocol.

I bought this mode, to be used with Comcast Xfinity. After a little plug and play and a quick phone call to Comcast I was up and running in no time. I picked this model over the one similar to it because it has 4 Ethernet out ports on the back of it and hardwiring some devices is much better and faster than wireless. I use this product in conjunction to the Google WIFI and I get 800+ mbps no problem. I could get more, but I only pay for the 800. Point is it is fast and reliable. I have had other models that I am constantly having to reset, but not with this one.

Ease of setup. Increased my D/L from 25 to 300 with same level of service from Spectrum. My old modem was holding me back.

Solid docsis 3.1 modem. Price matched Amazon price, it will pay for itself in a year by not renting a modem from MEDIACOM cable. Paired with the Eero pro 6 mesh routers, I'm getting over 600 Mbps over wifi throughout my house and over a Gig hardwired. Almost 2 months of use and haven't had to reset the modem... I was resetting weekly when the rented modem would lose internet connection. Highly recommended!

Handles network traffic well, setup was easy, definitely noticed cleaner faster speeds. Paired really well with my mesh wireless network.

I wanted a gigabit-capable modem to replace the one that Xfinity offers. This one is fantastic. Stable, fast, reliable. It is truly an upgrade to what I had and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

It works good and saves me money on my internet bill. It also has made my speeds go up and the internet is not dropping like it was with the cable modem from my internet provider.

I have been whining for so many years how slow my internet (between20-30mbps) was despite having a relatively recent wifi5 router and 100mbps download speed from my ISP. I haven't realized the culprit was my OLD cable modem whose maximum download speed was 30 mbps!! This modem brought it to 100!! 10 stars all around!

Nice upgrade from my previous modem. Fast, easy to setup.

With the whole family home during quarantine trying to work, complete college, high school and elementary school it was no surprise that our internet seemed to slow down. When I called our service provider I was surprised to find out that not only was I no longer getting the highest speed they offer (they upgraded speeds twice) but our modem was outdated too. Since my router is fairly new they suggested I upgrade the modem first to see if one capable of ‘more lanes of traffic’ as they put it would help, which it absolutely did. Thanks to this modem, our connections improved without having to also increase our monthly payment for a faster speed.

I upgraded my internet connection with Comcast up to the "1 gig" speed connection. What they do not tell you is 2 things. The first thing is that you need a Modem that supports DOCS 3.1 (which this Nighthawk does) & the other is that you have to upgrade ALL of your Ethernet cables to at least a CAT 6 to be able to handle the "1 gig" speed. This NETGEAR Modem has no issues handling our internet now

Love this modem. I use it with Mediacom. They put their own software on modems even when they are purchased flat out and refuse to give you login info. They require a passcode of the day. My connection was being slowed to 30 mbps and we pay for a 1 gig connection with constant drops. So I went and bought this from best buy. Completley awesome performance.

Has great speed, fairly easy to set up and this is coming from someone who isn’t very computer savvy. I wish it were a little more clear on how to set up the other 3 ports

This thing is so much better than any other modem we have ever used, speed is consistent and it was easy to set up.

This Model is the top model from netgear and I am happy to say this has fixed my issues. This modem has the capability to go to gig speeds, although, I’m not using it at gig speeds yet I plan on in the future. If you plan on upgrading, spend a little extra and get something that has a little overhead for what you Plan on using. I will say it is y’all and a little wobbly due to my thick cable I have plugged into it so I put velcro on the bottom of the stand and it doesn’t go anywhere. I would see the modem get lifted up a little due to the cable I screw into the back but that’s my setup and more than likely won’t be like your setup

Do you keep getting random internet outages from your cable internet service provider? Buy this modem and try it out for a week to see if your connection improves. This is way better than the garbage modems your ISP sends to you, and if you're like me - your speeds will increase significantly. For best results, pair with a good Wifi 6 or Wifi 6E router for your home.
