One day my 6 yr old modem just died and stop working. Needed to get a new modem and so I chose this one based on prior reviews and the fact that this was one of the modems recommended by Xfinity. Very easy to set up and get me back online so I can WFH.

    May be an over kill

This is a great product. However it may be an over kill for current standards since as far as I know no ISP provides internet speeds higher than 1GB (I may be wrong). Also there are 4 ports at the back of which you can only use one currently. Based on my answer from technical support the other three are for future use.

Pay the money for the extra performance and future upgrade ability. I paired the CM1200 with the Orbi AX6000 and the house has 100% coverage of the fastest internet speeds ever. I saved modem rental money from Xfinity and improved my performance at the same time. Worth it.

Our last modem started overheating so we decided it was time to upgrade our modem and router, after doing my research this was by far the best modem to go with our new nighthawk router. The setup was quick and easy and modem has worked great with our new router. No problems with any heat build up.

Good modem, but not a switch, get single port unit

This is a good modem. Works well with Cox gigablast in OKlahoma. It’s not 5 star rating since ports 2,3,&4 are basically useless unless you are into and know what port aggregation is. It will not act like a switch, like I thought it would. Shame on me for not knowing more before buying. The documentation on the box and in the product description is less than useful. Netgear customer support will help but they are slow. The forum is best to get info or help. I would recommend the single port modem to anyone and save yourself $40 and the aggrevation of the 4 port device Modem works very well when paired with a Google Nest router and point.

I had another Netgear Product that Xfinity had on their website as compatible with the 1 G/S service. It wasn't. I had a tech come out and try to figure out what was wrong. Nada. Finally, I just ran to Best Buy and got this one. Plugged it in, and wala! Internet and television were working.

Basically a plug and play set up. Had to replace a combined modem router damaged by lightning. This was easy to set up. Purchased separate mesh router this time.

This replaces a Mediacom cable modem and it is much faster and reliable. It powers a mesh network for desktop and laptop computers, security system, and streaming to televisions. Very impressive!

My internet provider started charging us $10 monthly with their new modem/wireless router combo. So I decided to purchase this while it was on sale. I was able to set it up quick and easy. I was surprised that our internet speed increased more than the previous modem. This was definitely a good buy for me.

Replaced my arris 6190 with this. Works awesome. Had the 6190 right at 1 year but wouldn't stay connected to Cox without multiple resets almost daily after only 9 months.

This is a great cable modem for DOCSIS 3.1 (Comcast Xfinity in my case) if you don’t need a router (I have my own separate router). According to data I read online, it is preferable to have a separate modem & router instead of an all-in-one so that’s what I did. Working great so far!

Glad I purchased my own cable modem, recently had to get Comcast and didn’t want to pay their dumb rental fee so I went with this modem. So far this thing has been awesome! It hands down is out performing the crappy modem that Comcast tried to stick me with.

Great modem. Got tired of paying Cox for my modem, plus that quality was only fair. I purchased this modem and connectivity went up. Very easy to set up and use. It fits in with all the other Netgear stuff I own.
