ONLY a cable modem, not a router, 3 ports useless

I bought this due to it having 4 ports on the back. Could not hook up unless I only plugged into port 1 with nothing on the other ports. Called Tech support and was informed that this IS ONLY a CABLE MODEM, not a router. I tried to then get it to link with my TP LINK router, but was unsuccessful. I spent 2 days in all trying to make it work. I would work with all 3 of my desktops, but only with one at a time. I returned the cable modem.

It worked for a week or so without kuch problems then it completely just doesnt work. Then to find out its not compatible with our xfinity for whatever reason. I couldnt return since i had trashed the original box. Had to get a different one to make it work.
