Customers have good things to say about the Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem's performance, ease of use, and setup. Many appreciate its compatibility with various internet providers and its ability to provide a strong signal. While some find the price to be high, the positive feedback on speed and reliability outweighs this concern for most users. A few users reported experiencing issues with the modem itself, but these were less frequent than positive reviews.

This along with my Asus RT-AX86U get 200-300mbps more than what I pay for. My plan is 600mbps, On average I get anywhere from 700-900mbps. As far as substainability, have to wait and see. No problems with any type of streaming or programs on demand. Love it, just hope that it lasts.

This modem is a beast! Works perfectly and gives me fast speeds. My only complaint is that it can be spotty rarely. Like in a blue moon or something i wont be able to connect to the routers its connected to. Super slim and sleek as well. Love it!

Must have for those who don’t or want to pay your ISP a monthly rental fee for one of their units. I’m getting the gig speed that my rental unit wasn’t letting me achieve. I have a NETGEAR Nighthawk AXE7300 router plugged into this modem. Perfect pair.

This modem works extremely well on my network. I have had literally no disconnects at all like my original one from my ISP. It has a 2.5Gbps port on it as well.

This router has been great this far and has enough bandwidth to cover all the services from my ISP. I also got it on sale.
It also works properly with my Netgear Orbi Pro SX80.

Starting to fail after just two years

I have owned this product for exactly two years and the LED's (power, upstream, downstream) on the front of the modem have all gone dead. Only one LED works. See attached photo. The modem is working but I had to call Xfinity to check power levels. I also had to troubleshoot and perform factory reset and it still didn't fix the issue. Now I have no visual LEDs to confirm/check if the modem's download/upload are operating correctly.
I cannot recommend this product.

The Netgear Nighthawk broke down before it was a year old, and Netgear's customer service was appalling. Through several emails they asked me for information on the status of the netgear IP address to know the status of the modem. I don't recommend it at all.

Excellent modem with 2.5Gbps port!

This modem is great for those that can make use of that 2.5Gbps port. Took a little time to setup with spectrum but was up and running great. Even during busy times this modem gets better speeds than what the spectrum one gave. Gives great speed on spectrum gig tier.
Signal levels are great (they even improved as the modem was online for a few days) and the modem has great ventilation. Does not run hot like a lot of the arris cable modems do. For those that rather have their own cable modem to see signals and be future proof. The lights are not distracting and bright like the motorolla mb8600 is for example. Modem has been rock solid for the 2 weeks I've had it and is performing excellent.
Also it's worth noting that the arris sb8200 has had its fair share of issues on spectrum network and would not recommend (DSLREPORTS.COM forums have more info). Also the hardware revisions on spectrum website for that model are not very promising.

Works perfect with Suddenlink, if only Suddenlink worked as well as this modem. It's incredibly easy to set up, easy to use and out performs the modem provided by Suddenlink by nearly 200mbps. At any given moment when I run a speed test I pull 800+mbps on a 1000mpbs plan. I've pulled a few rare 1300mbps tests, but not consistently.

If only the Netgear Nighthawk routers were as good as their modems. I own a Netgear Nighthawk router I bought in tandem with this modem and it was terrible since day one. This modem on the other hand delivers superb performance and is very easy to set up. When contacting my ISP they were able to get it connected and there were no long boot times or periods. The speeds... are incredible! The aesthetics are pleasing as well. It doesn't feel cheap and it has plenty of ventilation for a modem.

Works well (using with Comcast xfinity), completely simple setup of the device itself. Plug it in to your cable, your network and your power, and go. (Note: I already had a separate gateway device.)
Setup with Comcast was a bit painful, but only because you have to use a mobile app to update your active modem, and they don't tell you the mobile device you use this app on _must_ be capable of calls/text.
Once I got past that, this device definitely gave me closer to Comcast's advertised speeds for my area, which my earlier cable modem was not rated for.

I upgraded to this modem due to my internet bandwidth being increased by my ISP and my previous Arris modem not having the capacity for the higher speeds. The Nighthawk modem was easy to install--the only difficulty was sending my MAC address to my ISP for activation, but that was easily solved and not a problem with the modem itself.
I am now getting roughly 2.2x the speed of my old modem, and connection has been stable throughout almost a month of heavy use. My household uses a great deal of bandwidth for video streaming and gaming, and the modem is more than capable of dealing with as much traffic as we can generate.
The DOCSIS 3.1 standard and capability of gigabit speeds mean that this will probably remain my go-to modem for several more years. Whether I will need a faster router to go along with it remains to be seen.
Don't be scared off by the cost of this modem. Buying your own versus renting from your ISP will pay for itself within two years, if not less.

So far so good, I haven't really had any problems, works great with my Spectrum Gig. The upload light keeps blinking (Blinking white. The cable modem is scanning for an upstream
channel. ) I Googled it and it appears that's normal, a lot of people reported it. But no reboots and stable. A bit pricey but I think its worth it

Easy to set up, if you have comcast it's very easy to give them the numbers they need and they can find it pretty quick. My speeds are maxed out with this puppy (1.4gb). Faster than what comcasts own equipment can do for sure.
