Works great easy setup to xfinity except for voice. For voice you have to contact xfinity. If not for that would have completed setup in less than an hour

When my cable internet speed slowed way down (to the point where streaming shows would pause periodically with the spinning circle of doom), I discovered that my Comcast/Xfinity-rented cable modem was no longer supported. I decided it was time to buy my own. I specifically did not want one that included a router, since I already have an Orbi mesh system, and this Netgear Nighthawk seemed to fit the bill. Setting it up was pretty easy and took less than 10 minutes. Now I have the superfast speed that I'm paying for.

Geared more towards xfinity customers. I did noticed more stability and speed once we installed the modem. We did need help with xfinity customer support to get it working perfectly, but bottom line this was a good purchase.

Good solid fast cable modem with VoIP support. Easy to setup. The design and material of the CM looks a bit strange and cheap but functional. Works well with Comcast Xfinity.

Excellent modem! We never had any problems with this modem at all. Speed was exception. We switched to the Xfinity modem to get a discount on our billing and have had nothing but problems! We are switching back to our Netgear Nighthawk.

Since my speeds with xfinity had increased, I needed to replace my internet/voice modem to take advantage of the upgrade. This Netgear modem was easy to install replacing my older one. I did have to contact Xfinity to help push the signal so I could use it. The xfinity app wouldn't do it and couldn't find it on it's own. It's been working great and my speed has increased!

I purchased this cable modem because I was adding VOIP and getting a higher speed wifi. This was the only voice cable modem I found and I didn't want to pay the Xfinity months charge for their cable modem. The setup was fairy easy and there were no problems with the wifi. The phone took about two hours to become active, perhaps because it was a new line. I've had this cable modem about two weeks and haven't had any issues. Just plugged in my mesh network router. I now get 400 mbs download speed most of the time.

Works well so far down load is faster than my other modem/router combo. A lot better than the modem I had for 4 years, Small and doesn't take up a lot of space, Only had it in service for a couple of days. Still having syncing problems with my 4k sony tv. Over all good so far with the router I purchase with it I was able to get rid of the extended wifi router and have everything in one location. I to call for support for the router, not very good, gave me a case # and put me on hold forever. Hung up the phone a lot of places blame it on the virus for their bad service.

It works, but it’s not worth the hype or price. Speeds are fine when it feels like cooperating, but I’ve had random disconnects that require rebooting more often than I’d like for a $300 modem. Setup was straightforward, but stability hasn’t matched the premium price tag. It’s not trash, but it’s not the rock-solid upgrade I expected either. You’re mostly paying for the Nighthawk name and future-proofing with DOCSIS 3.1, but don’t expect miracles if your ISP is mid-tier or your signal isn’t perfect. Decent, but not impressive.

I purchased this Netgear modem to use on my Comcast internet and home telephone service. It works great and now I don't have to pay the $10 fee they charged me for their modem. I am able to get faster speed also. This is just a modem and does not have a router system built into it but that is what I wanted because I wanted to use my own top of the line Netgear router system as a separate unit. I would recommend this modem to anyone who is a Comcast customer and wants to install their own modem without having to use one that Comcast supplies. My home phone system also works great without any problems with the unit.

Note that this unit is overkill for my current needs, but purchased over the 1050V due to better reviews and less reported issues along with greater capacity for future needs. Works great! Download speeds improved significantly. Now able to obtain download speeds much closer to the 600 Mbps download bandwidth I’m paying for. 4K movie streaming is flawless. No caching delays. Just smooth movie steaming. Installation was straight forward via online process (i.e. this unit replaced an existing purchased cable modem) per the instructions included with the modem. Didn’t need to call Comcast/Xfinity for assistance. Modem connected with Comcast/Xfinity system after entering my account and requested modem details and automatically set up the modem and updated my account with this modem’s model and details. It took about 45 minutes with several automatic modem reboots included to reach the end of the setup. Again, very pleased with ease of replacing the previous modem with this one. Next purchase will be an upgraded WiFi router to give all mobile devices in family simultaneous hi speed access for streaming.

Have Netgear Nightghawk 9000 along with this docsis 3.1 modem with voice. This modem is extremely stable compared to any of the previous Xfinity modems I had to rent from them. Simple setup and admin page is easy to navigate. Ditch renting you will never look back!

Stay Away if you want more than 50 Mbps Upstream

Avoid this modem if you want upload speeds beyond 50Mbps, currently it is not compatible (March 2025). We purchased this unit thinking the claimed 1G upstream meant it would be capable of faster uploads when Xfinity/Comcast made that available in our area. The faster uploads just recently became available in our area but the CM2050v is capped at 50Mbps (Comcast confirmed this to me). We found out the hard way after upgrading to the Gigabit X2 plan and spending hours trying to get the modem provisioned properly. The download speed is present, but our upload tops out at 42Mbps. It appears this was done on purpose by Comcast (after discovering a bug, the firmware was rolled back). This 'bug' has been worked on by both Comcast and Netgear for over a year (their own claims), and there has been no solution. It appears that the only other Voice equipped unit that can do the faster tier upstream is their own rental modem (which I would also avoid for a multitude of reasons, not just the rental fee). Best of luck !

Easy to provision with Comcast, happy with the performance, happy to not be paying a monthly modem rental fee! If you're running your own Wi-Fi router and just need a modem that gets the fastest speeds, this is a great pick, I use this to drive my Unifi Dream Machine Pro and it works perfectly.

Modem works well. This is actually my second one, the first one burned out due to being in a confined area with the wife’s electric heater next to it.
