Customers are saying

Customers find value in the Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem's ease of use, strong performance, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its voice support and competitive price, particularly as an alternative to cable company rentals. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain internet providers and reported problems with the Ethernet ports. The lack of built-in Wi-Fi was also a recurring point of feedback.

Bought an open box buy, easy setup. I haven't had to do any configuration other than get it hooked up to an existing wifi mesh that I have in the house. Di have to call Comcast to get it in their system.

From what I could find at the time, this was the only router supported by Xfinity, if you need gigabit bandwidth and an available phone line but you don’t want to bother with the xfinity branded device that must be rented. This will pay for itself over time.

Great cable modem. Netgear says it will do up to 2GB WAN connection. Comcast says only 1GB WAN. I tried to connect dual channel and did not get it to work right. All channels appear to be connected correctly through the WAN side.

This improved the quality of my internet so i like that even though i don't have gigabit speeds. I reccomend buying your own modem because its something you forget about and the cable company makes a killing on renting out these units.

instead of renting the cable modem, buying this piece of equipment is the way to go. Excellent hardware from Netgear to handle my phone, wife and cable needs at home. Worth owning the equipment from a top manufacuterer.

Internet speeds were great, but I kept having to re-initiate my Xfinity service daily. After several calls to Xfinity, it was determined the modem was at fault, so it was returned.

Bought this modem so I can return my telephone modem and not pay $14/month. Also without 2 modems cuts down on space used. Works as expected and is fully compatible with XFinity.

I bought this modem b/c it was one of the reviews online., As with any device that Netgear tries to sell, it works half the time and it's over-priced. Did you know that unless you own a small business no one needs Doc 3.1. I got suckered into to this buy b./c i need modem that also has Voice for a land line. This modem within 2 days keep self-rebooting and never once did i get a dial tone. well i tooked this item back and proud to say my Arris Surfboard for 2/3 of the amount works better and my phone has a dial tone. Motto of the review don;t buy anything made from Netgear. Rock on Arris!

We have a home with 3 levels with a computer and land line phone on each level. Our internet service seems to have improved significantly since we switched from and Xfinity modem to this Netgear Nighthawk modem. Very happy with this modem!

This was in Comcast list of third party cable modems to work with them, spent three hrs on phone and never got to work. Returned and had to get a Comcast cable modem again. Not recommend because of Comcast probably works with other ISP

    Comcast will push back

After purchasing the router and having the squad here to install it I learned that I would get pushback from Comcast as it is not their router and would tell me they can't troubleshoot any issues as it's not a Comcast router. Plus I learned I'd have to replace the router every couple of years and at least with Comcast I can swap it out. In the long run it's easier to have the Comcast router so I don't get caught up in the finger pointing game. I returned the router without a receipt and after the 14 day return policy and once again Best Buy honored my request with no questions. It may be because I am a best buy member.
