Bought the Arris surfboard two 1 gig modem with two telephone ports problems from setup that lasted 3 months. Replaced with the netgear modem I smooth setup, almost too easy. I called Comcast to verify & they said everything was already set-up. Never had a easy setup with Comcast ever! No reboot issues, operates like it should, setup and forget about it!

This is a great way to save money by not having to rent the Xfinity X1 modem/router however it does not work as seamlessly as one would desire. My first modem worked for about a week, then began to have connectivity problems with Xfinity that became a major problem. By this time, it was too late to return to Best Buy and had to deal with Netgear directly. After several hours of going through Netgear protocol and having Xfinity and Netgear repeatedly blame each other for the problem, I was allowed to return it for a replacement. The new one has been working fine for the past 8 months and I hope my luck holds. This is a tricky and complicated device that works well, when it works. Even getting the second functional one to be recognized by Xfinity took a few hours on the phone with their tech support. Not a simple plug-in and instant connection by any means. Patience is required with this one.

This was the only option for Xfinity 1 GB internet and voice service available for purchase. The modem is ready for the net faster than the Arris modem it replaced. Installation was quick and easy. Knocking off one star for the small icons on the front of the modem which did not have any references for in the user guide.

I have Comcast gigabit internet with telephone service. When I upgraded to gigabit internet I had to replace my DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with a DOCSIS 3.1. Based on the reviews that I read, I chose the Nighthawk. I would highly recommend this cable modem. Setup was quick and easy. No problems with connection speed or stability of the connection. Buy this cable modem and stop paying the equipment rental fees.

So after a little bit of research, this is one of the few xfinity-compatible cable modems that is DOCSIS 3.1 and has a voice gateway. I'm getting an average of 980Mbps of throughput. At this point no reliability issues to report.

I have Comcast and I got tired of renting their modem and paying that monthly fee. This is a great modem that delivers 1G speed which is what my internet plan is. Easy set up just have to plug it in and call you ISP to register it and set it up. I would obviously recommend this if you have a phone line in your plan if not there’s a cheaper option if you don’t need the voice feature

I purchased this about 30 days ago and installed it the same day. Although, comcast said that I would be able to connect online, it didn’t work that way. I had to call the technical people at Comcast to have them activate the modem. Wasn’t a big deal, just an extra step. Since I mostly use my cell phone, I didn’t realize that my landline was not active. Apparently, you need to activate this as well. So I had to call them back a week later. All in all, the voice modem works great and i’ve Not had any problems. I connected this to the Orbi mesh system from Netgear as well and both have been working great.

We just started xfinity voice and internet and didn’t want to rent their router. Went with this modem to connect our google home WiFi mesh network to it. With the 1gb service plan, we now consistently get over 700 mb speed throughout our single story, 2501 sq ft home with 19 devices connected via WiFi and 4 via Ethernet. Setup was super easy and fast.

Super easy to set up. Didn't even have to call Comcast to swap this with the Xfinity modem I was renting from them. Maintained the same speeds and no more rental fee. Keep in mind there is no router in this modem. I have NetGear's Obri mesh network set up, so I didn't need it. Will be paid for in less than two years.

I bought because I was led to believe I could use all Ethernet ports on back. You can not I don’t use the phone jacks. So I had to buy a splitter for over gigabit speeds. But the product is a 5 star activity and functionality wise

This modem works with my ISP. Saves me on modem rental fees. Performance is good. Had some compatibility issues with this modem and my mesh router but it seems like those were resolved now via firmware updates.

One of the fastest modems out there, THE fastest with voice capabilities. Easy hookup, activated instantly (voice was a bit of a struggle, not all comcast CSR's are created equal). Eventually I'll open up the bandwidth and push the limits of coax.

The modem was easy to install and activate with a call to Xfinity. Modem features were easy to decipher and use during the activation process. The lighting on the display needs to be more prominent with larger icons. The sleek design of the modem is well done. DOCSIS 3.1 is an improvement over 3.0.

Purchased this modem to use with Xfinity in place of the rental. Had no trouble with installation. Speed is better than expected getting 720 Mbps, telephone line connects to line 1 and works great. Over all very satisfied with this modem.

The modem couldn't be easier to install. Plugged it in and followed the instructions on the booklet for configuring it to work with Comcast. It provides faster speeds and a new version of DOCS then our Comcast provided modem did and in a little over a year will pay for itself in the fees we no longer have to pay to rent the other one.

I stop to pay the rent for every month. Because I found this, it can to work with internet and voice. Brand New! Also it has DOCSIS 3.1 too. So it can up to 10 Gbps. Very Fast! I got 10% off with regular price since I am a Best Buy membership. Good price! Awesome!

This modem has been working great. Easy to use. With my router im getting around 250 mbps wifi and 850 with an ethernet cable. I would recommend this product. Just use with a descent router and you will have no issues.

Works great. I use it only as a modem and phone service with an Orbi router. Easy setup. If you have cable, your speed limitation will be due to cable service (like our Comcast service) rather than any limitation imposed by the Netgear.

I wanted a DOCSIS 3.1 modem to replace my rental Comcast modem. I purchased this item from Bestbuy. I had to return this product 2 times as Netgear customer support determined the 2 of the units were defective. I placed the 3rd unit with a new ax router and it worked fine. I found that only the top ethernet port works and the other ports do not seem to be operational at this time. This may be fixed by Netgear at another time. Customer support seemed to be not aware of the issues with the ports. The performance of this unit is great and I am expecting to have for several years
