Netgear customer service is terrible

If not, customer service is terrible. I had to prove it was not working right by renting another modem from the provider, getting a costly service contract (later refunded) since tech help is only 90 days, and my own expense to ship it back. Replacement is working fine so far (less than a month) but cost me $40 out of pocket and 3 phone calls to get. At six months old, the old one couldn't keep the connection and had to be rebooted several times each day. Hope the replacement lasts longer than that. Will switch brands if this one fails.

Does not work with Cox

Of course, the install tech said it did not. Hence the modem was returned without being used. He did, however give me the Arris modem for free. Please ignore the product rating. It is not applicable.

Voice doesn't work.

The box for the product, says in several places that it only works for Xfinity Voice. Netgear support confirms this. I have Optimum Voice, it is the only choice here. It is incredibly frustrating that this fact wasn't red flag raised and alarmed before I bought it from this website. I suppose in terms of the product it is a bit narrow in scope to design something that only works with one privider, but I dint know the logistic complications of this, imposed by those monopolistic cable companies, so it's hard to judge. For clarity, the internet works, but not voice, but if I wanted strictly an internet capable modem, I would have bought the other model.
