Customers find value in the Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem's ease of use, strong performance, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its voice support and competitive price, particularly as an alternative to cable company rentals. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain internet providers and reported problems with the Ethernet ports. The lack of built-in Wi-Fi was also a recurring point of feedback.

Should be an N/A option/rating because my ISP phone interface only works with the Spectrum Modem so I had to return this equipment for a refund.

Great 1 GB Modem with Voice

If you are looking to save $13 a month from Comcast by owning your model versus renting the modem then this is a great choice. It is DOCSIS 3.1 which means it supports all speeds up to 1GB. It also has support for voice, I think this is the first DOCSIS 3.1 modem with voice that is available. In my usage the modem has been great delivering great solid speeds and the voice is equal to other available modems. Highly recommend.

Perfect Solution for Xfinity Docsis 3.1 and Voice

First full Disclosure: I was a Beta tester for the Netgear CM1150V and was provided a CM1150V for the beta review. I had been using a dual configuration Arris SB8200 for Docsis 3.1 Gig service and a TM822 for voice. The CM1150V offers data & voice in a one box solution and is perfect for those who just want a great modem and provide their own router and as in my case a Mesh WiFi system.
To be honest I didn't have high hopes for this product but I was surprised that Netgear has built a well engineered solid performing piece of gear in the CM1150V. Registration was flawless using the Comcast automated online provisioning. After a bit over a month the CM1150V has been rock solid providing my 3.1 Gig data and Voice service with great results. This has turned out to be the right unit to replace a 2 modem method or a perfect way to start out fresh with 3.1 and Voice for Xfinity. A great product!

Works great once you get COMCAST to add it

Lesson learned... If you are replacing a rented COMCAST modem/router you will need to take it to an Xfinty store and have them remove it from your account before they can add this one. Was on the phone with tier 1 support in a 3 way call with NETGEAR for over an hour. The COMCAST rep tried to tell me that they couldn't add the new modem because it had already been provisioned by someone else. This couldn't be the case, it was brand-new straight out of the box. NETGEAR was going to ship a replacement next day even though they showed it as new.
The next day when I talked to COMCAST tier 2 support they said that wasn't the issue. The issue was the old modem had to be returned and removed from the acccount then they woud/could add the modem. It was added to the account at the Xfinity store and the internet worked when I plugged it in 950Mb download and 50Mb upload. I did have to call them back to get the phone provisioned.

Rock Solid Modem

I received a beta version of the device at no charge, however, my review reflects my honest evaluation. The modem has been 100% reliable since I activated it about 6 weeks ago. I have not had a single problem with the modem. The activation process was easy and took just a few minutes. In the spirit of honesty, I will report that the only negative, and this is very minor, has been on Comcast's side. Their My Account pages show that I am connected to the internet (which I am), but when you drill down to see the device, it almost always shows as disconnected, again, everything works properly- it is a fault with the way Comcast obtains or displays information on customer-owned modems (I've had the same problem with multiple modems I've owned). It's not a big deal, and should not dissuade you from purchasing this modem. It has worked flawlessly, and has significantly reduced buffering when streaming. Voice quality has been excellent. I tested it for faxing, and it works perfectly for that as well. The payback period is about 2 years, but as this is a Docsis 3.1 modem, you should be future- proofed well beyond that.

The self install was easy, but after one day the speed dropped by 25%. I called Comcast and had it re-provisioned. It has been running fine since then. This modem should work well in the future with the port aggregation feature and a compatible router.

Let me start off by saying that I have received this modem for free as part of their beta testing program. Being I received this for free is not influencing this review. That said , this is a great modem! Since I started using it it has not had one hiccup at all no dropped internet nor bad phone calls. Form the instillation which was done from the modem (100% online) without having to call and speak to a support person for help. My speed has increased from my old docis 3.0 modem in both upload and download. This is just a great product and no more rental of modem fees. If your in the market for a new modem this is the one you need!!

I bought this product in May (appx. 4 months ago) to take advantage of Xfinity gigabit speeds and everything worked flawlessly. However, In the middle of September, my internet started dropping several times per day.
My first instinct was to call Comcast. They performed their tests and everything was fine on their end. While on the phone with the Comcast agent, I realize that all of the lights on the modem turned off, then amber, then started coming on again. That's when I realize that we have a problem with the modem: cycle on and off intermittently. My 4 hour long observation did not reveal any specific trigger for the cycling - it just happens. I reached out to Netgear support (it takes a really long time). Finally, the agent advised me to contact Comcast so they can perform a 'recast' on the modem. I called Comcast and after hours the recast was done but the problem persists. It is a really frustrating situation: 1. My family is working and schooling online 2. this problem started 1 month after the 3-month warranty expires!

Works fine, but cannot see status lights

Everything was fine (Xfinity Tripe-Play) with this Netgear CM1150V modem. The installation was fairly easy & the speed was over 1 gbps (at the wall where Xfinity comes into the house).
My complaint is that the front status lights are tiny & dim. I have to turn off the room lights to see them. The decorative silver front plate is also too reflective. Just changing this plate would greatly help the status lights to be seen.

NETGEAR - Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem

I have to say, I'm genuinely surprised by this modem. Not only does it work well, but, I didn't have to fight with Xfinity to either add to the account, or, troubleshoot for any initial problems. Installed according to Netgear instructions, activated online with Xfinity, and, good to go! There was one little hiccup with the modem restarting within an hour or so after I hooked-up, but, I have a feeling that was Xfinity fine tuning on their end. So far, so good! Nice to be able to save on modem rental fees as well!
